What's the best anti theft system for a bus? Should I install a alarm, kill switch or shift lock? Thanks _________________ 1971 westy

Parking it inside Fort Knox.
After that ,if somebody Reallllllly wants to steal it, there is no safety.
If they are just looking for a joyride, then you could just remove a fuse and foil their plot and just buy a window (the one they broke). In the end the only thing you can do is prevention (keep it off the road parked at night, keep it in a garage)
Im sure you will get search bar police, but theres a few nickels before it gets shut down. |

I found alarms useless. They are unreliable, need to be set and they just get the neighbors pissed from all the false alarms.
Here has what has worked for me. Two kill switches and a flashing red LED.
I run all my cars with a electric fuel pump so I put a hidden switch on that and on the ignition. The LED is about as good as a alarm, gives any thief that does not want to deal with a alarm the idea that there is one. So they move on to the next car.
I hooked the fuel pump up to a indicator light, so if the switch is left on, the light is lit. The ignition kill is hooked up to the flashing LED, if the kill is activated the LED flashes.
Another way you can go is a keyed battery to starter disconnect.
Also, if you use something out of the ordinary, most thieves will not have a clue as to how to get by it. On one of my cars I have a trunk mounted battery, if I feel the need to be real secure, I have a quick disconnect for the battery. They are not going to spend more then a few minutes stealing something, let alone a hour or two with a flashlight and a tester, trying to figure out what you did.

Nice. My question got shut down fast. I searched for kill switch but few good ideas. Right now just use the Club. _________________ "I spud therefore I yam." |

The Club is almost useless if someone that wants your bus. With a bolt cutter on the steering wheel they will be gone in seconds. I helped a freind get his jeep back like that. ( It's a long story, don't ask ) |

If pros really want it, they'll get it. They'll just winch it onto a tilting flat-bed or hook the back end with a tow-truck and they're gone before you open your eyes and mutter, "what was that noise?"
Most amateur crooks are stupid and a kill switch will usually confuse the shit out of them. Then you just replace the vent window lock or glass. _________________ More Hot Lighting Products are here!

O' boy Jody. How about maybe a live one that crawls around on the floor and climbs up on the seats? Who wants to find out?
I've got one of those clubs that hooks around a pedal. A friend also has one and I told him they are useless because all you have to do is reach underneath, undo the one bolt that holds the pedal arm from pulling out. He said that is why he has his splash pan installed. Mine wasn't.
I put a key switch on my bug. It's wired to some plastique.
