Great Video Rick,
I recognise some of those streets in the early part of the vid, you'll have to venture a bit further south. Suprised you didnt include the Sea Cliff Bridge, maybe next time. |

that video was taken by my bro in law who was following me back from the VW Summer Cruise at stanwell park, I didn't actually know he was recording until he gave me the footage, but Sea Cliff Bridge is a must!.. definately next time |

created 3 anchor points by using the metal plates required by ADR (australian design Rules) and placed them throughout structural parts of the car as requested by the engineer,
the lower points were placed through the body and pan in the small cavity where the gear linkage is

I've enjoyed your build thoroughly! Lots of inspiration here, especially since my color is about the same as yours, though the Australian sun seems to give a much better glow on the car than in the US
Anyway, one small question about your rear seat belts. I'm trying to do the same thing. But the above mounting point... was the body off when you drilled and placed this point? Seems very difficult and potentially damaging with the body and pan together. Thx! _________________ 1971 Ghia coupe. Assume I know nothing and you'll be pretty darn close to the truth. |

the fixing points shown in the picture above were drilled trough with the body and pan bolted together, the plate that the seatbelt bolts into is inserted via the inspection plate for the gear linkage and sits in the 1inch groove that the body mates up to.
it is a tight fit in there |

Looking good Rick
Our season is winding down. I may go to one more show this weekend. Then I will be storing the Ghia for the long winter _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.”
