Actually never bought it from the guy. He nor I had a clue what it was out of. I was excited thinking I had found me a jewel. I'm sure he still has it though. Small time junkyard. He deals mostly with bugs but has a several buses.

So I took the two pieces and made them into one. Then laid the OG one over that - traced and came up with the correct piece to fit the 74-75 floor plan.

In the first pick - in the middle of the carpet at the top - you can make out the seem. THat will be covered by the cabinet. The rest is pretty good. Im a bit rusty at carpet seeming but it looks pretty good.

Some updates on the interior. I was able to insulate the sections where the panels sit. The large section on the drivers side and the small section by the slider. Once that was done in went the rear seat and final carpet adjustments.

So what I didnt tell you in the last post was that the side panel is not wide enough. See in the pic - that white at the bottom? Yeah, to short by about an inch when compared to the og one. Why? Because its meant to go in a Helsinki - true Euro Helsinki. If I had the seat there like a 75 instead of the table like 74 only then it wouldnt be an issue. So I added a srip to cover it. Looks way better than these pics.

Moving onto the refer cabinet. It and the sink one took some messing around with. THe holes need to lighn up just so, the sink drains and the right hardware. I had to stop and look at my reference pics a couple times to get it right Confused To much time between when I took these out and now to remember - so take pics so you dont have to remember Wink

Bitch of the refer cabinet was that side trim piece next to the slider. I had to cut that down quite a bit to fit right next to the cabinet, so it all fit snug. I took it apart and back together at least 5 times.

At the same time I sanded, cleaned, primed and painted Mr Westfalia sink vent cover. Pure white.

I also put the plate for the table leg in and the trim for the vent on the pass through between the cabinets.

The other day I put the small strip panels on the rear section of the bus. These actually fit pretty well with the og ones used for the hole location template.

So shes coming along. I need to get the Eberspacher in and actually should have before I put the rear bench back in. Im going to have to take it out to do the BN4. Then I can have to heat when I sleep Wink

Shoot maybe it will be drivable? Id have you come over tomorrow but I have a work function sales thing to go to.

The motor is still at my cousins garage - soon to be picked up. I had to free the floor space in my garage to store it - where the cabinets were - clean it again before it goes in. But the BN4 first.

It definitely is a trip to see it all new. Every bit of it. This will be the first all new-mostly new resto I've done in a long time. I may actually be driving soon!

Last week I was plinking around in the classys. Not looking for anything particular - but I ended up finding something special.

I never knew these existed. A VWoA later tool roll! I may of seen a pic at one time maybe, but being force fed Hazet as the tool of choice one can miss this.

STAHL - The other German tool company. This was an NOS in the box kit - I say was because I just put all the tools in all the pockets Wink I do intend to use it if needed and this "should" stay with the bus as it is a correct era kit for the year.

Ive had some cool Hazet kits over the years. These tools look better made in my opinion. Its a good kit to. Useful stuff for sure.

From the 1973 Accessory catalog from VWoA. The year prior in 1972 was a Hazet.
