I like the red highlights. How did you get it to fade in and out so precisely? Is that air brushed?

Good luck on your goal. My goal is tomorrow.... Embarassed .

They guys I go off-roading with call my baja "The-Lotrat-Ladybug". It really hurts my man feelings. I'm not sure how the baja feels about it because it won't talk to me.

yea we'll see.
my original goal was to be able to drive it during last deer hunting season
(fall) .....that didnt really work out :\

its just rattle can'ed i painted the whole thing black and then hit the high spots with red and then sprayed black again to get rid of the red overspray.
it turned out really well! i was pretty happy.

ughh im so tired of cleaning off old paint and rubber undercoating. right now im cleaning up the front under the gas tank. hopefully ill get that done and get a coat of paint on it and the gas tank today.

more pics to come.

Looking pretty great ! ! !

I'd LOVE to know how the red urethane tie rod end boots work out. I bought a set but haven't put them on yet, but I love the look and am dying to do so. Please keep us informed, would you?

One thing though, you may want to reconsider the red urethane steering coupler. I bought one of those as well, but found a whole lot of chatter on the forums about it shattering,
so I'm holding off on installing it.

Luck,

T

im loving the tie rod boots to! i really dont like how they fit tho.. :\ cuz there so thick they dont fold like the rubber ones. so there slipped over the tie rod end.

so it really doesnt have a very amazing seal and im worried about it cracking. ill post a pic of it for you. maybe yall have an idea of what i can to fix it to.

Just a thought, how about putting a red hourglass on the under side of the pan.... just a small detail for those who get the rare glimpse of the underside....

sweet buld so far. I've always thought about doing the same with my 74 super. the main reason being, that everything VW related seems to come in either black or red ( serpintine belt systems, urethane stuff, billet aluminum stuff always seems to be anodized in red, fender beading, etc.). tho most of the different parts come in many selections of colors, it just seems black and red are the only colors they they ALL share.

anyhoo. keep the build porn commin Cool
