I have had the ALPs roll-up table for over 10 years. I use it ALL the time.
It has held-up very well and packs into a neat roll smaller than a camp chair.
I also have a folding plastic table from Costco that was a whopping $34.00
Would buy both again.
Guess if you had tons of money you could buy a Snow Peak table, purdy but pricey.

brand, cost, square feet, dollars per sq ft, weight in lbs
sierra $80, 10.7, $7.48, 20
roll a table $80, 7.1, $11.25, 11
rei $65, 5.3, $12.38, 9
alps $70, 5.4, $12.86, 9
gsi $35, 1.2, $28.27, 1.15
seats and table $60, 3.5, $16.94, 15
seats and table $35, 3.5, $9.88, 15
comments
The sierra gives the most square footage at the lowest cost per sq ft, but it is also the heaviest.
the REI and Alps are very similar in cost per sq ft and are among the lightest
the roll a table is 34% larger than the REI, and weighs 2 pounds more. Only downside I see to the roll a table, is the top is plastic. _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

The genuine, original Roll-A-Table is made of wood slats covered in vinyl... and is made in the USA.

Don't think I ever replied to ^that. One by one, the 4 cheap $10 Walmart chairs I had have gone bust. Just so happens the sole survivor, which had a decent nylon storage bag, finally broke some time ago. Conveniently, the Roll-A-Table fits perfectly in that chair's bag. _________________ ~Kamz

We've owned the same Camptime roll-a-table for raft and Westy trips for ~15-20 years. It shows no sign of wear and has never needed a bag. We recently added an aluminum-slated REI-like table as already mentioned. I maybe splitting hairs, but the vinyl top of the roll-a-table is easier to clean than cleaning up between the slats. Small rocks under the camp stove has never hinted at melting the vinyl.

I've been following this thread closely as I have been needing a camp table. I went through all the vendors for Camp Time and this site has the best price of $74.95 w/ free shipping. http://www.mountainsports.com/MSmain.asp?Option=Detail&Detail=086200
Has anyone used the NRS Table Utensil Holder they sell that attaches to the table? Not sure how useful it would be. |

Like others here - I have an assortment of tables. Fold ups, roll ups, mounted to van or free standing, but the one I did not see mentioned is the one I took out of my Wife's CR-V. Came built in, but did not get traded in.
Fits in space in pop top without issue. _________________ Its a mistress; an expensive, whiney, needy bitch of a mistress. I'll give you 6 reasons why this table is the best:
http://www.amazon.com/RIO-Adventure-Compact-Expand...+up+table#
1. 2 table sizes in 1... 28" x 27" and 48" x 27". Seats 2-6 people.
2. Telescoping legs to adjust for uneven ground.
3. Aluminum top. Great for hot pans and stoves.
4. Like similar tables: No center bar to hit your knees on, and no plastic corners to melt/break.
5. Rolls up ridiculously small for it's size... Folded - 30" x 11.5" x 4".Unit weight: 12 lbs.Weight capacity: 60 lbs.
6. I can fit two of these in my Thule box plus all my other crap for a family of four and these tables don't take up any appreciable space in the box. In fact you could easily fit two of these under the bench seat depending on what else you got in there .
Bonus: Here are some great chairs for your table that also fold up small. I love these. They are comfortable and all four of mine have held up very well over the last year:

Lol jon, maybe I'll give a link. Can't make it that easy.
I spent hours and hours researching and I went by the best reviews. This table has the best and highest reviews.
Few reasons why this is the best.
1. folds into one suitcase like to store away. minimum space
2. You can detach it and make it two tables, make it to a L shape or one low one high. or whatever.
3. Adjust to three different heights seperately.
Like I said I tried most of them and this is hands down one of the best.
Mine folds locks into a suitcase style and you can make it one large table and adjust into three different heights

Although it looks like a metal surface, the descriptions on both Amazon and Coleman's website say, "Aluminum frame and MDF prep surface." MDF sure doesn't hold up well to moisture or heat (hot pots, stoves, etc). _________________ 1990 Multivan - "Ohana"

I have the table and chairs. Both have held up well and work good, no complaints. _________________ 86 syncro CHC, NorthWesty subbie 2.5, decoupler, locker, custom interior, 225/75r16 Duratrack's on CLK's, Toyo cabin heater, ARB fridge, 300w Zamp Solar, Gowesty bumpers/skid/rails, Fiama awning

Forgot to mention the CampTime Roll-a-Table will fit inside the van, just barely but good enough. We've been able to continue our board and card games (Catan and Dominion) that are too big for the stock tables when the wind picks up or the bugs get to be too much. |
