USA-made option with great quality and reviews - people using them for over a decade rafting - a great one for sure! The only down-side I see compared to the metal roll-up one I own is that I can use my Coleman stove on mine, and do all the time (Weekender)

I use my camp stove on the roll-a-table no problem. If the bottom of your stove gets hot, something may be wrong, unless it's one of those grill type camp stoves. A normal burner stove doesn't get hot on the bottom.

Yes they do but they have some stability issues........ I'll find out when mine arrives.

recently scored a roll-a-table at a garage sale for $5.

I'll soon be pitting it against my Rio table to see which works best for me.

(really like the Rio by the way)

I purchased the Roll-A-Table sight unseen based upon what I read in this forum and other feed back.

It came today!

I opted for the reduced price GREEN!

First thoughts....... 10lbs is fairly heavy! Not excessive but a little surprising nonetheless.

I was unable to find any accurate dimensions before purchase of what it's rolled up size is for I want to get a water proof roll bag for it.

Well folks...... Nominal 33" x 7" ...... Very tight 6"....... To slip it easily into a bag....... Figure 7", get an 8" diameter bag.

Plus a sturdy strap and snap for holding it rolled up.......
PLUS a handy dandy carry handle!

Another frustration I had is not finding a photo of how it sets up. I had kind of figured it out based upon simple common sense. I knew that the legs threaded into the table top from what I read but what gives it strength as a flat surface?

I guessed at bars performing the task..... I'm Right! But I thought square ones based upon the popular leg style being square but I'm WRONG!!
The strengthening bars are round....... Or at least they are on the adjustable leg version. (The adjustable legs are round)

How does your table "roll-up" with the way you installed the legs and supports? Maybe I missed something.

You unscrew the legs, the supports and legs go into a bag attached to the table edge and they are in the center of the table roll.

It takes a few minutes to assemble and knock down but on the plus side, there aren't any diagonal braces preventing you from utilizing the table as you would a real table. You Can pull up a chair and not have your knees blocked by a brace.

Does look nice, but I think I'd still rather have the exposed aluminium roll-top tables so I wouldn't have to worry about putting hot pots or BBQs on it. I've used them before and it's nice to be able to take a hot fry pan off the camp stove and set it directly on the metal table without issue.

I really like the roll a table idea….I have a roll a cot that I used for years to sleep in the back of my 4Runner….soooo comfortable! But that table is just not large enough. I also like the aluminum table tops for hot pans and cooking.

I looked long and hard at the Aluminum roll up tables.

What "scared" me away was many reports of failure due to the built in Bungee rotting and breaking.

Knowing the poor reputation of imported rubber these days...... I figured I'd opt for the vinyl covered wooden slats and just be careful with hot pots. I didn't read any reports about camp stoves melting the vinyl at all.


Also I like not having gaps in between each slat making cleaning difficult and spills instantly leg soaking!

Interesting discussion.

While this item is not on my "to buy" list (other mechanical needs take precedence) I've had my eye on this set up:

From the folded measurements listed, it seems like it would easily fit in the luggage rack. I measured that the rack would roughly contain anything 19"x46". Another thing I like about this table is that it's 100% aluminum. I question that, but apparently one of the reviewers states it's a true 100% aluminum.

I also like the stools. I figure I could use those as tables when extra seats aren't needed. And the last detail that caught my eye was that the table legs can be shortened in half. At the half way setting it seems like this table would be perfect to move inside and set up on the bed (like a tv tray) for board games or other activities.

Is anyone using this table? If not, I'll be the guinea pig... but it will have to wait until after the holiday season.

That table is an impressive looking set up ^^

It reminds me of a portable table my parents had back in the 1950's! All aluminum, folds in half. I do recall that old table ending up quite bent as the years ticked by with four sons!

My die is cast with the Roll A Table for now....... Look forward to hearing more about this one though.

I am going for a gang of waterproof roll top bags in the luggage carrier , the RollATable fits this scenario.

GW or somebody should make and sell a "perfect folding table for the Westy luggage rack" similar to the one above (with stools), but one that maxes out the luggage rack.... say maybe 45"x19" folded (maybe 4 stools would fit?) which would be 45"x38" expanded.

I'd bungee 2 on top of each other plus a solar panel and my family of four would be set for cooking and eating outside with our Weekender.

Since that doesn't exist (yet...) I'm quite happy with my expandable Rio Alum Roll Table, but those take up a little space in my Thule Box. Maybe I'll start packing them in the luggage rack and hope they don't wander off (and/or buy locking steel Yakima straps).

I don't know about the yakima straps but I have a Lashlock, a 13' long cable lock for kayaks, I'm sorry but I cannot get the picture link from my gallery to paste.
in fact nothing will paste into this window Confused
Anyway the cable ends in a ball that inserts into the lock then levers closed like a chain load binder. By filing a small amount off of the sphere it fits through the six loops of the luggage rack and can be secured tightly. Check in my gallery if your curious, it was about $35, at orsracksdirect.com.
A long cable lock around camp can be handy too,

Looks like they do also make a similar 4-stool version of the table, sold by the same outfit, that also should fit in the luggage rack. (Note: There is a slight difference in the table legs, and this one has a hole in the center for an umbrella.) I kept my search under $100 bucks so it didn't show up at first. Here it is:

The dimensions are a little larger, but it should still fit easily into the luggage rack, and you'd get 2 more stools/tables.
