The motor and trans are final done and on the way to their new home. Thank you Mr. Okrasa, (Joe Ruiz) for your work. Next up the exhaust for this beauty.

The 74mm Porsche crankshaft and flywheel has 8-dowels as standard supplied. Jose at DPR has been doing my crankshaft / flywheel work for
almost 20 years now without any issues. If you supply a ring gear, he can install it as well as 8-dowel and balance your flywheel.
New, hardened 6V flywheel ring gears are available pretty cheap! Here they are on eBay:

They are asking $30 bucks each or "Make Offer". I would start at $22 bucks!

During this restoration I was hoping to make a few noses (lowlight) complete, to help some that want a new nose skin. Our EARTHQUAKE destroyed 1year of work when the shelf crushed the pattern. So here we are, one set of nostrils remade, & now we have a template from the factory we can remake and re finish the original idea.

I will make 6 wanted that's fine, not wanted that's ok. There are many better fabricators out there, this is my shot. Good or bad it's up to you, just trying to help.

The true craftsman are gab fab, fast fab, and Jason at TRP. I am a hobbiest @ best NOTHING more. I definatly do try and help when/where I can. I hope I can in a small way help keep these influential pieces of design alive.

Hey Scott,
I had the privilege to visit TRP/Jason this week Cool
SUPER nice guy and I got to see some amazing work.
I also got to see a collection of two 59 verts, one 59 coupe, a 356 vert and a very old Mercedes vert.
I went on a pick and found some old VW parts in some old sheds and saw some signs from the original Econo Motors shop and a beautiful 55 bug ragtop and much much more. If I had more time I would have tried to get down your way.

Switch just showed up. The postman is like my best friend. He has been here since the beginning and is always curious when he gets a out if country post mark to see what part has arrived.

They are the cab top latch/hook covers plates. They go on where the J hooks and latch mechanism are.

I think the NOS switch above is for a bus. It should work, but you will need to add a wire or two since the 58-59 Ghia switch has eight wires and the bus switch has 6. The bus switch has a different knob too and it is cast onto the end of the handle, while the Ghia switch has a fatter style knob that screws onto the end of the handle.
