|
|
I had previously posted some of this build in Body /Paint , but since its a 73' Im posting here to show you guys !!!!
This is moreless a transformation from what it was to what it is now ! I do not have original pics posted of what it looked like in 98' when I bought it , the first pics you see are the paint job and bodywork I did in 2002, I hope you guys like it ! Thanks
Got an itch for a Hoodride !!! So I sprayed paint stripper on it and that started it all over again , basically I created a reason to repaint my car !!!
Then I decided to paint it Flat Black , just for fun !
Had to cut and patch some classic 73 rustspots under and around the vent !
Stripped Down ready to get primed
Primed
After 1st coat of Agave L-240
coming together
Put Airride on the front !
Final Result , minus bumpers and runningboards , still waiting on them !
This is the TMI Beige and Cream two tone interior that I bought at Jbugs for a Killer deal , Thanks Gary !

Are those steel or fiberglass fenders? What kit did you use to go to a wide 5 set-up? Looks good, I'm not a fan of the early headlights but your's looks good. _________________ Fatchicks: Daily drivers, donor cars, collectibles. What can't they do? |

Fiberglass on the rears of the first pics , but I sold them with the wide rims , because the were cracking and becoming to much of a hassle ! I have 66' front drums and I forget which year I used for the back but I had to space them out !! |

Looks good! As soon as I cn I'm putting 67 front fenders on my 68. I'm saving that work for when I paint it. haven't decided if I'm going to do a wide five converstion yet. REALLY want to run smoothies. _________________ Fatchicks: Daily drivers, donor cars, collectibles. What can't they do? |

Never thought of that. If it's done right it should work. I'll have to look into that thanks _________________ Fatchicks: Daily drivers, donor cars, collectibles. What can't they do? |

It depends on if the thickness of the steel is the same throughout the whole face of the drum , if it is , then tapping should be fine , There is always pros and cons to both options ! |

So now that you've answered the wide five question, here's a couple more. Did you fill the cresent vents or were they already done? And what about that front apron? Is it the european piece or did you modify the stock apron? I'd like to see the bumper mounts inside of the spare tire well. You have any pics? |

Oh, BTW, that interior looks really sharp! I didn't know that you could get the panels an original 73 seats in a two-tone. |

I actually filled( welded) in the cresent vent , and my front apron is a stock 73 that I cut holes in so far , but Im in the process of fabricating the brackets that will attach to the original 73 bumper mounts and then have a piece on the brackets that will come to the place inside the apron( by cutting holes) were early bumpers will fit ! It looks good on paper at least ! ...... and yes at Jbugs you can order any year interior basically anyway you want it !!! Hope this helps ! |
