356/912 engine reassembly o-rings case seals question

Hi ALL, I'm at the time of closing the halves of my engine case after a total rebuild, looks to me to be a 1968 912 case with the numbers 616-39 on top but it will do the job on my 56.

I can't remember when I split the engine case if there was any o-ring seal inside the case between the 2 halves, however I know of the 7 outside that will seal the six main studs.
Any of my shop manuals don't show details about it ..

i don't know of any orings between the case haves. but you can use a sealer their, i use loctite no.518. you should check with loctite though i'm not sure if they make the 518 anymore. allso go to the 356 talk forum you can get answers there. allso check the engine building section of this forum.
