I can mount any sensor at any position I want with this bracket. Once I have it dialed in, I'll fully weld where the triangle portion is and remove the bolt and nut. It pivots front to rear and swings up and down.
The distributor vr sensor wiring and hall sensor wiring can run in one harness. I just disconnect the plug for the one I'm not using. I can yank the distributor and canister coil for a wasted spark coil pack and/or cam sync easily. I'm anticipating every possible upgrade I could want should be easy to do. _________________ Check out my truck brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood

Im wrapping up the engine bay wiring and getting it ready for final fit and a covering it in loom.
It looks like a complicated mess, but it will nice when it's all wrapped up. You just have to break it down into a few mini harnesses. Here's what I have them separated into:
Injector 1&2
Injector 3&4
Intake temp
Coolant temp
MAP
Throttle position
Crank sensor
Distributor vr
Coil
Engine ground
Stock wiring (oil pressure, charge light, alternator power, ign on)
A few areas require T's, like sensor grounds, injectors and sensors. I used Weatherpack connections to simplify and make changes or troubleshoot. It also makes everything match since 4 sensors use the connectors already.

I'm not sure how I want these 180 degree bends to be clocked just yet....but they will connect to each other behind the fan shroud. Left side 120 degree hose end gets fuel from the small inline filter. The right side 45 degree hose end will send fuel to the pressure regulator on the firewall, then regulator return goes to the -6 bulkhead and towards the tank. _________________ Check out my truck brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood

Crank sensor mount is finally finished. I'm finally done with the precision fit parts..... Getting that trigger wheel attached with no runout and drilling and tapping the 6-32 thread screws was tough. I'm no machinist so it took forever, there was no margin for error. Making the sensor mount rigid, centered, indexed and tight air gap of .75-1 mm was just as difficult with basic tools and a welder. There's so much to consider, like even though it's done, I'll have to adjust the air gap again after I put paint and clear coat on. Acrylic urethane has a really thick build compared to something like spray paint.
Here you can see I added a locating pin on the sides if the sensor so it's not able to rotate and lose ignition signal. I'm so close to driving the truck it's difficult to have patience. But, I'm a big critic of myself and I don't want a breakdown over something so ridiculous. _________________ Check out my truck brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood

I got rid of the sheet metal air filter lids and bases since they were beat to hell. CB cast aluminum fit the bill since I wanted to have some meat to drill and tap for intake temp sensor. I needed the sensor to sit as low as possible for clearance. 3/8" NPT and common GM sensor. Just cut the threads a little at a time and test fit. It's tapered, so you really have to be patient. I had to cut all the way up to the last thread on my tap for a nice fit. _________________ Check out my truck brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood
