Hello,

I have recently bought on-line a Solex 32 PCI carb in excellent condition, however, it's missing the accelerator pump, cover, diaphragm and likage.

Do these items match from other solex carburettors ? If so ... from what specific carbs ?

If it looks like this then it looks like you could use parts from a 28 PCI:

Some other discussion I found:

Otherwise, do you have a photo?

Thanks for the answer.

I only have the photos from the e-bay auction I bought it from.

I am waiting for it to arrive, until then i can only speculate about it.

My best guess is that the 28 PCI parts will fit.

The inside of the accelerator pump area looks different than a 28 PCI though.

IIRC the majority of a 28 kit will fit. But EB is correct. The Accelerator pump diaphram is different. It is the same as a bunch of other Porsche carbs and variations. Pretty hard to come by and spendy.

The carb has finally arrived Smile - and it's an odd little one Very Happy

The pros might be the fact that is in "uber-NOS" condition - the recessed mixture adjustment screw still has a protective rubber cap on it ... and it's obvios this carb has never seen gasoline in it's life.... Very Happy

Now, ... for the odd parts - first there is a manual on/off idle jet - the long thin brass thing on the side of it, as it appears in the pictures. When you press it, it shuts-off the idle jet. ...

Regarding the accel pump - it appears to have been disabled at the factory, since although there is clearly a provision for an accel pump, i cannot find an "intake" hole inside of it ... I have attached a close-up picture of the pump area.

This clearly suggest a carb modified for an industrial aplication (the accel pump issue plus the "special" on/off idle jet ) ...

Does anyone have ever seen something like that ?

I had something similar years ago and was from a type 4 industrial engine. It was a 30 or 32 and looked just like a 28 pci but the stud spacing to mount it was 5mm further apart than a 28.One of those things i wish i had kept but couldnt find a use for it at the time.

Are you sure this is a SOLEX carb? I don't really know if SOLEX made one named as it.

However, in Brazil the exactly same carb is known as WEBER 32 PCI

This is a very unknown information as there isn't any brand-logo on it

I am buying this carb right now, and I'll add a secondary venturi on it to improve idle stability

This is an Industrial use carb. This division of vw did things very different from their car factory. We get brazil solex.peirsburg, and german solexes on crop sprayers and zambonis alone. this carb was meant to be used with a govenor so there is no provision for an accel pump. If you want this you going to have to drill the passages.check balls and seats, yourself.
