Hot Air, I just stumbled across your interesting build. What back spacing did you deside to go with on those centre lines to get those 9.5's to tuck like that? Also what time size are those. 245's I'm guessing?
Looking forward to seeing more soon.
Porkey.

Porkey, the tires on the back are 295/45zr18 Nitto NT555 the rims are 18"x9.5 with 5"backspace. 4"to 4 1/2" back space would have been better. But the wheels fit great very pleased.

Just curious..... Why do you feel 4" to 4 1/2" would have been better? Are there inboard clearance issues?

No issues, just would like to have a little more play room. I have about a 1/2" from the spring plate to the side of the tire.

Not sure what you are intending to do about your 914 seats but upholstery is available here.

Pretty reasonable as these things go too.

IGGEE sells a seat cover that doesn't look too bad either.

i would like to see someone that has used those seat covers on 914 seats... looks pretty good in the pic. It would be nice to recover them OE style, but for 200 less you can do those covers... makes you think.

Here you go....I used the seat covers you are referring to from Iggee. I was at MOTB 2012 and everybody could not believe these were slip on seat covers. I would recommend these seat covers... they are nice.

The seats were purchased here on TheSamba classifieds for $100 + shipping. Seats were a lot better shape than expected. Cleaned the seats with Castrol Super Clean and a brush. The thing is you can buy a set of 914 seats that are vinyl or the ugly plaid design and cover them with these covers and they will look great.
Here are the seats as purchased before installing the covers..

Progress, Very Happy About time, sealed up the bottom side of the side pods and started to blend the back into the body. Back to being itchy.

That should add great strength to your shell.
Good to see more progress! Lately I've had the itch to get itchy too.

Sad to say it is not.. I did make a cart for it so I can push it out of the garage by myself to work on it. I have been busy and have not had time to do anymore work on it.
