I was checking last week for the dates and they said they had not been finalized yet. Keep an eye out here in the "events" forum, I'm sure they will start a thread. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Don't forget the 8th annual Bugfest at Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater, held Sunday January 18th. Always a good time. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Did FaceBook put an end to forum based websites? |

I wouldn't say "put an end to them" but I think many forums are down on traffic due to FB. I've seen personally several forums that don't survive and yet FB groups with those topics are thriving, and with familiar names.
I think since FB is so engrained into our phones now, it's much easier to post in. The only downside is there's not as extensive of a history on FB, so questions keep getting asked over and over, but then again, isn't that a complaint of forums too? _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Any VW's Over the Skyway this year? Isn't it about that time for #19 or did I miss it?
Thanks,

Dave - You should be due quite a big check from Facebook with them stealing your dislike button idea. Shame that you are rolling on a different site forum to get this great piece of advice 😋.
Personally, I think it's a shame with how the Samba forums are not being leveraged fully given the service that it provides to the classic VW community. Still each to their own. |

Are there any members of this forum that live in the Old Seminole Heights part of Tampa? If so, I am thinking of getting a small periodic local VW thing going with like minded folks. I think that we have a good collection of cars in this part of town, I know because I have seen you guys at Publix and Larry Olsens repair shop. There are lots of cool pubs and restaurants that would make this area of Tampa great for this type of thing on a small scale.
PM me if interested. |

If you send me an email address I can put it in our group to see if you get any interest. I know there's people that live in that area that are in our group.
I can also add you to the Local Volks mailing list so you'll know about our monthly meets. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"
