I would remove the entire wiper motor minimum so the shaft isn't sticking out.
You want th have a good coating of the holes edge.

That's something else I didn't remove. Thanks for pointing that out. I will go to the shop and ask to let me remove more parts. This is my first project so I guess I will end learning from my mistakes.

Has anyone out there painted their car without removing the window scrapers? I forgot to remove mine before I took the car to the shop and the guy is now telling me he will just tape around. Am I going to regret it if the scrapers aren't removed? Any advice will be great.

Ask him to remove them, Do what you want, its your car. If anything how much more can it be.

Yeah I'll tell him to remove them. It shouldn't be more than another $50 bucks or so (my guess). Thanks.

Wow! Shocked That turned out great, got any more pics? Where exactly did you end up going? I am going to bite the bullet myself and go to the 1 Day Paint and Body in Costa Mesa off Harbor blvd. I am going for a two tone paint job. I will be doing all the body work myself because I am lacking in the budget department. Hope it turns out half as good as yours did. Did they paint the interior as well? What about the engine bay and trunk area?

Sorry about all the questions, I am getting excited to finally get paint done. I should have the funds to do it by the end of the month. Applause

I had it done by Clearcoat in garden grove. Raymond Jr is the owner and a cool cat. I had the trunk retouched in black as it was painted that color previously. As for the engine bay, I was too lazy to pull the motor so no new paint, but the shop said than when I pulled the engine they'll spray the bay for me. Good thing the new color is very close to the OG color. I'll post more photos later. Thanks.

Your car turned out very nice. Great job..!! I tried the spray can, but after a few unsuccessful tries and a lot of mess I gave up and decided to have the pros take care of it. Plus it needed lots of body work and that's another level for me. But hey at the end we're all a happy group of bug owners...!!!

Why would you shortchange yourself? Especially on paint......my buddy don paints lowriders and hot rods, give him a call.714-585-8715. You wouldn't believe how great of work he does. Paint looks like glass.

Great job, I will be calling Clearcoat Paint and Body in the spring for a painting estimate. Did you go with a single stage urethane paint?
