I think 1600 cylinders will fit in a 1300 case, if you could find a set of good used pistons and cylinders it should make more power, nothing like cubic inches.

But 1600 cylinders will not fit in 1300 heads. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

in my high school days, I accidently left the deck height spacers out.... That made my little 1300 a 1776 eater! Never did have a problem with it, although I'm sure it isnt recommended....WHO KNOWS what my compression was! Was definantly a hell'of alot of fun beating the guys at school with a 1300! _________________ My classifieds

Put your car on a diet.
Get rid of anything you dont need. Back seat, heavy tool boxes, speakers, spares ect.
Nothing beats power to weight ratio. |

Make sure the 1300 is tuned and running properly.
It may be a case of a bad distributor or it is not running on all 4 cylinders. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
