Thanks for the compliment Rich. It will be a nice car but not the quality of car that you do. You have done some really beautiful cars. |

Thanks for the offer Eric. I will let you know. Going to Wolfsburg West show tomorrow and get some more parts for chassis. I can't believe how much my brother has spent on his restoration so far and still needs motor rebuilt and complete interior done. Treffen or bust. |

Yeah, they get expensive in a real hurry don't they... The car looks great man. I wish I was going to be in the states for Treffen, I'd love to bring my car down to it, but it doesn't look like its in the cards for me this year. _________________ Jason

Hello Ruben,
Here's a couple of pics of my L276 Ultramaroon. All OG interior. What color will your interior be? Do you know what it was originally? Charlie

Hello Charlie, nice pics of interior of your car. The orig interior in my brother's car was also red leatherette. He plans on doing seats and door panels in brown cloth material, beige cloth headliner, tan carpet and tan canvas sunroof top. Found a 54 motor and trying to negotiate price for it. Will know in a couple of days if deal goes thru. |

Not much progess on car the last couple of days. Have been busy making molds of some steering wheels. Also painted some seat frames for a 50 split window for someone. Found a couple more accessories for the 54, pr of metal window screens and pr of plastic door visors. Will be working on the chassis the next few days. Will post pics of progress.
Thanks, Ruben

Here is what I went with....
Not the greatest pics but should give your brother an idea.
I should have that other part out to you in a day or two _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

Hey Eric, did you get the interior kit from Lenny? How did you like the quality of items made. I have to find someone to either make interior and install it or buy one of Lenny's kits. I was going to have Dave Lumetta do car but he cannot do it. Political reasons. |

I ordered all my stuff from Lenny then had the shop I use here in Sacramento install it all. I did the same thing with my 53 and I have all the interior for my 57 vert sitting here in a box waiting for the same treatment.
Lenny's stuff is awesome, it's just a matter of getting it that's the question...I'm sure a lot of that has changed with Henry around now. _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

Worked on chassis today. I had the drums turned and then I painted them. I finally got the rear suspension finished and installed the firestone tires. It was the first time in almost 10 years that there were tires on chassis. Next up install steering box, front brake lines, brakes , shocks and tires. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel

Found a couple more accessories for the 54. I was at a yard sale a couple days ago and bought this e brake handle cover . My brother also wanted a roof rack for his car, so I found this one. I don't think it's an original one but got it for a very good price. I think thats it for accessories on this car. I have been busy with other things, so have not touched car Will be working on front end this weekend. One of the things I have been working on was to make a mold to recast the 56-59 vw bug wheel. I used to work for a company that did steering wheel restorations, so now I do it on my own. I hope to make some more vw steering wheel molds in the near future.
