Finishing and installing the floorboards

So... is she done??
by far NOT!!!
items still to do:
- make and finish the bumpers + install
- make the box for the glovecompartment (just have the door now)
- make the steeringbox cover
- make the drainbox for teh grills just in front of teh windshield
- receive my engine and install
- hook up teh linelock
- check on brakes since not 100% OK (still some air somewhere I think)
- ...
and the list goes on with all those small litle missing items!! _________________ 356 Outlaw built: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=430774&highlight= |

Holy smoke! What a nice car!
I love the colour combination of slate grey on the outside and red on the inside. I originally wanted to give my car the same colour combination, but in the end I decided to go for black instead of grey... |

Damn, Peter! Your car looks awesome! You're one Helluva craftsman.
Glad I could lend a small hand, and pleased that you like it. But actually (with no disrepect meant for my California brothers and their smooth look), down here in Daytona Beach, I call it the "FLA-Look". Guess I probably shoulda known better, though.

Hi Peter, really nice result after lots of work. I like your own individual "touch" of building your own things in a perfect way.
Have fun driving the car, the spring is out and summer in front - looks really nice.

"- make the box for the glovecompartment (just have the door now) "
The plastic glove box insert from an MGB is pretty much a perfect fit., gray flock it and it'll look like it was born there. |

Thanks guys!
should post some more updated pics soon... I have been working on the bumpers, steering box cover, drain grill catch plate, .... and a whole bunch of those little things that take forever.
But still missing the engine There were some issues with the 48IDA carbs so those needed quite some additional work to get them into a good state. All that should be good now, but still waiting for its turn on the dyno for a start-up and finetune. Hope to get it back any day (week) soon now! _________________ 356 Outlaw built: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=430774&highlight= |

bought a crusty set of bumpers
cutting in pieces
And fitting to the car... trying to get the bumpers as snug to the body as possible
with some extra work on the rear bumper since I placed it slightly lower versus Original
all ready for finishing and paint. red on the inside, body color on teh outside!

next on my list of little things to make was the box for behind the glove compartment door, so decided to make this out of steel since that seemed the easiest for me?
tracing the inner opening
and some filler inside and out
before paint and installation.
Another item to cross of the list _________________ 356 Outlaw built: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=430774&highlight= |
