Worst choke/coaching job I've ever seen. As soon as I said to Mrs. Cusser that Atlanta cannot take a loss - has average field goal yardage - Ryan tries to pass and is sacked, so then long field goal yardage. Then holding on next play so no attempt. Good old Atlanta Prevent Defense, gave New England 31 unanswered points. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. And, I, was so hoping to not hear any political/current events update from any entertainers. Let's just view a game and enjoy the moment.

Just goes to prove "it aint over til the fat lady sings"!
Veteran coach and QB vs young coach and QB. However one thinks, some history was made as first overtime for a super bowl showdown.
I didn't have a dog in the fight but enjoyed it immensely.

Watched with a couple of friends.
Before the game, someone said "I just don't want it to be a blow-out." For a while, it looked like it would be.
Someone else commented "I hope it's not a boring defensive struggle." For a while, it looked like it may be.
A comment often repeated throughout the game. "Bet nobody expected that."
ATL would (almost) shut-out N.E. in the first half. "Nobody expected that."
N.E. would come back from 25 down. "Nobody expected that."
N.E. would succeed on 2, 2 point attempts. "Nobody expected that."
ATL would only play half a game. "Nobody expected that."
Over-time. "Nobody expected that."
I even enjoyed the half-time show. I didn't expect that. _________________ Everything known to man has been written.

For the 1st time, Canadians were able to watch the US TV feed, instead of the Canadian simul-cast, with Canadian commercials. Finally, we were able to record the game, and blow through it just to watch the ads. Instead of YouTubing them later.

Worst choke in history? C'mon....you saw Pete Carroll not running with Marshawn Lynch a couple years ago right? From the 2 yard line? With 3 attempts and a time out?
How bout the Yankees losing 4 straight to the Red Sox in 2004. "Never been done before" eh? We like that around here.
When Joe Buck said no team has ever come from behind more than 10 points to win a super bowl in the 1st half, that gave me hope.

Really dislike both Brady and the coach. They were the better team and Atlanta showed us what happens when you sit on a lead.
Of course I am from San Diego and had 56 years of having my heart broken and watching games being given away. _________________ Larry in OB

Dude that really sucks.
I was upset about the whole Spanos taking his ball and goin home thing, and I am not even from there. I just can't imagine....
The taxpayer funded stadiums need to stop too, so I am glad that San Diego stood up to the NFL there. Now the Chargers will languish in LA and slowly become a worthless team the league has to take over. Its really sad.
What is the feeling around SD? Who will you root for? Give up on football? Actually not a bad option these days, the product on the field is pretty unwatchable now. _________________ 1971 STD BEETLE- DD-1st car, 1st love. keepin' it stock! 1600DP, Solex 34-3 Mexi Bosch SVDA Dist NOW w/POINTS

My family moved to San Diego in 1961 and I followed the Chargers ever since. I will miss the Chargers but I will not miss the owners. San Diego has had some really good sports team owners (Gene Klein, Ray & Joan Kroc and John Moores come to mind) but we have also had some turkeys like Donald Sterling, Tom Werner and worst of all, the Spanos'. They were constantly clueless about everything including PR. Throughout years of discussions their atttitude was "FU". Hope they are happy playing in the 30,000 seat Home Depot Center in Carson in front of a lot of empty seats. The smells from the refinery next door will add a unique flavor to the tailgating.
As for the Raiders in San Diego? Noooooooooo! For starters the city would have to pony up for thousands of feet of razor wire to contain the Sunday Gathering of the Felons. _________________ Larry in OB

Well, while cleaning up today, had the Bills-Patriots game on the TV. Once again, at end of first half, NewEngland Football League official review reversed an on-the-field Bills touchdown; again the commentators did not agree with the ruling of not complete possession.
Shades of the touchdown reversed last week at Pittsburgh !!!
Not sure the fans want this type of micromanagement anyway, and especially when it seems like so much stuff goes in New England's favor. NE challenge in 3rd quarter gave NE a first down and kept possession on a review also questionable to the commentators. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Seahawks are out, Vikings are out, I'm out. I was just barely interested in modern NFL football as it was, now my Sundays are even more free to do other things, like watch hockey. _________________ nothing |
