Hmmm, that doesn't sound too good. I'm probably at least three months from my purchase so I will sit back and wait for some more encouraging information or explanation from Pat as to what is going on. So what carb package are you running and did those spacers cause air cleaner to hood issues? |
Mine has been in and running daily for 3 weeks now, no problems to report of, just waiting the get on a chassis dyno after the new year to dial in a "custom for my engine" spark table.

Okay, mine just arrived today. Should the plug gap stay the same? And I guess CB recommends NGK over Bosch plugs? It just seems like I could open the gap up just a bit? I have tons of questions, but I will install and see how things go. Any pointers, hints, or advice for tuning would be great. And I guess this is the best thread for this product. |

It doesn't have an electronic ignition kit in it? I think it's strange to run such a fancy dizzy and keep points in it. _________________ Pics of my 1970 Satin Black Type 1 build |

Spark plug gap should be around .028. NGK or Bosch, plug choice is up to you.
If you have questions on it you can email me at [email protected]

Hi,
I see you have a CSP Linkage, I have the same one and had the same issue.
Simple solution for me was to move the mounting plates along the axle on the carbs so it clears the distributor.

Does it sound like a electrical or a vacuum noise? |

Can you clarify. I plan to use the same combo and I'm not sure I know what you mean by move the mounting plates along the axle of the carb.
Thanks |

I'm gonna try but I find I lack a few words to be clear. I'll try and get a picture next week end
The CSP Linkage goes to the carbs (or throttle bodies) and comes with a little plate (or lever) that goes on the axle that controls the air inflow on the carbs or TBs.
On this axle, whether its on webers or the quicktune EFI, there are multiple spacers, maybe other unused levers. If you dont put the CSP plate / lever on the end of the axle but closer to the carb body or TB, you'll find it clears the distributor. Or at least it did on my setup.

I'll look for the pix next week. My carbs are 45 dells. I am planning to purchase the magnaspark next week and the CSP linkage. I may end up going with CBs crossbar linkage depending on what your pixs show me.
Anyone else running the magnaspark and a centerpull linkage?
Thanks |

I just replaced the rear facing ball stud on the left card arm, with a threaded 5mm ball facing forward. The studs can be picked up from most Weber carb shop, or a hand full of linkage control hardware suppliers. This way the linkage attaches between the carb linkage arm and the manifold.
This is with CB offset manifolds and DRLAs, and it provided approx 1/4" clearance for the rod and distributor. |

Now that A1 finally got my 36hp header back to me I can finaly test the dizzy from CB that I've had since October. Sorry Pat.
This will go in my 36 hp Okrassa kitted engine. we've made 65 hp so far and timing curve seems to be an issue so with this dizy we should be able to program it where we need it and make more power.
Updates in a few weeks _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Has anyone used this on a turbo engine yet?
Did they get it to retard under boost as it should.
Would they buy it again Over say a Mallory with an MSD6AL and Boost Timing Module or MSD BTM Box? _________________ -John Cox

There is a factory map for the Mag II for Turbo use.
As a note......If you buy the serial to USB converter there is an application that must be installed for the distributor to communicate with the computer. Don't over think it. Just find the file the computer asks for on the installation disk and click to run it. After that the comm will be fine.

Finally back on this after a long Winter....
Heeding Pat's warnings that this Distributor will not appreciate ultra dirty, muddy, wet conditions I took steps to avoid an ugly scene by building a tiny off-road Distributor vent. Vacuum ports were added to the cap and base of the distributor. You can see the added base port in the back of the one photo. There is a .016 orifice in the vent line from the distributor cap, air is drawn in the breather up thru the base and drawn into the vacuum lines to the intake.
Timing pointer I made for the engine.

You're welcome to be the 1st Turbo app. The USB adapter is $26.95.
Now they sell a whole kit with the adapter, coil and plug-wires for $386.95 _________________ [email protected] Please use email for all general inquiries.
