Most fortuitous find. Love the story and great shape. Is that an old Plymouth Satellite or GTX in the background? And the blue car next to it? Agree, start new thread on getting it running. |

Really rotten. The Chicago winters really took their toll on this Bus. The bottom 3 inches are completely gone around the entire car. All 4 jack points are swiss cheese. The track for the slider door is completely gone so the slider won't open. The dog legs are shot. The beam has a massive hole in it.
The interior is in great shape though. The seat covers are all original and the laminate cabinets are mint. The curtains aren't faded at all.

Looks like a bus that if to be done right - needs to be stripped to the bare shell and sandblasted top and bottom. Then build it back. To me it would be worth it but then I'm already doing this project though with a mostly rust free bus. Wish I had the storage space to save 4 or 5 for the future. |

Looks to me like a bus that would be the perfect interior donor for a dry bus shell from the Western US. _________________ nothing |

It gets really windy here in the high desert and the wind blew this ol'guy's fence down yesterday and today I just happened to be at the right place at the right time and spotted this beauty. Knocked on the door asked if he would sell it and he laughed and said yeah get it out of my yard. Pretty solid bus but missing everything. No windows (just 2 vent windows on the side), no seats , no motor, no tranny but a very solid bus with very little rust. It's already been cleaned up so I will post the for sale ad tomorrow. Yes it has the slider door thats not pictured.

it's pretty dry some rust but very little compared to what I have been watching over the years but what little rust there is , is in very easy areas to repair The frame is super solid .No title but I can get that easily it's not in the dmv system for sure been sitting since 1978. _________________ ** HELL YEAH I'LL SELL IT TO YOU**

About a week ago today I was driving to the store and came across a mossy,
Engineless but surprisingly straight bus. At the time I didnt know what year it was
But considering it had 3 tickets on the windshield I figured it would be a good way to at
Least have the owner let me look at it, so I went to the house the bus was in front of, knocked for a good few minutes and no answer I turned around to find the house was forsale and nobody was living in it at the time so I figured if nobody is here to tell me I can look in the bus then nobody will be there to.tell me I can't, first thing I wanted to know was the year, if it was anything over 1971 I would have given up because I want the type one engine in my bus. As soon as I opened the door I saw the birthdate March of 1971. By this point I was really excited and not only was it the year I wanted but the headliner was perfect, both back seats had one tear between the two of them. So now was the problem, I was interested but I couldnt get ahold of the owners, I ended up calling the realtor and begging her to give my name and number to whoever owned it before it got towed. Later that night I got a call, which I was very surprised to get and I became the new owner of a 1971 deluxe bay with chrome bumpers that I have never seen. after I bought it, the owner actually threw in the stock engine with electronic ignition, and a few other things done to it. Tell me what you think. |
