Interesting and cool bus Cdennisg!

It would be interesting to see what the m-code says. I've never seen a radio antenna in that location, and with the gas heater it makes it a cool bus! Have you run the m-codes yet? Anything interesting on the destination, etc?

I have not run the M-code yet. The antenna was usually dealer installed, and the location varied with whatever the installer chose.

I'll run the plate and see what I come up with.

This bus/thread is very motivating, http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=611262&highlight=1970 but it will be awhile before I get to my bus.

Picked up this 71 Deluxe over the weekend. It had a pretty serious roll over at some point, so it will provide parts for my 70 deluxe and a friends 71 deluxe.

I owe a friend one of those emblems if it is available. Let me know.

I'll share the story in a Pm if you want.

The nose emblem? It's already spoken for. My friend was thrilled that it was there cause his is missing.

Thanks T cash. I did the decode thing, but I don't know how to capture it to post it here.

Interesting that the bus has a NY import code. It has a license plate frame for CA, and MT plates. These things sure get around.

Just took title on this bus that I rescued from this Michigan junk yard. It was a southern bus before being parked here so is surprisingly rust free for this neck of the woods. I went looking for parts but found the complete bus just begging to be saved.

I've got her FI engine running and stripped off the red paint back to the OG Reef Blue. Working on brakes before I roll her down my driveway!

Just picked up our first rescue today. It was a 4 hour adventure that included the seller not being able to find the van, 2 cops and paying off some land owners but it was all worth it. We've hauled her home and named her Lucille, scrubbed 4 yrs worth of tree sap and moss off the fiberglass and started cleaning out the inside, which included picking up pieces of the motor that were inside the camper. So needless to say she will go through a whole engine rebuild.

1971 Hightop Adventurewagen -Kansas Beige - planning to clean her up and give her life again and use her as she was intended, to go camping with our dog and to keep our beer cold.

Nice, you should start a build thread.

Good Luck
