That's about as rare as a Karmann Ghia can get right there - only 1,558 Cabriolets produced in 1974, and I doubt that many of them were equipped with the Autostick.
Orange is the perfect color for a car from that time period too.
Throw on the Marathon wheels and you've definitely got a keeper there! |

Thanks
Took all of my Lurking and Stalking skills to score this beauty.
My head is still spinning.
New Top planned this spring.

New here, just picked up a white 1960 Ghia, there was a small leak coming from both the tranny and engine so I decided to buy both new ones... |

It was about 50 degrees today so I put in rear windlace and the interior quarter panels. Then took a few pics in the garage. Anyone else getting antsy for spring??

His name is "Albert"
Just got him and am stoked to learn all I can and get to restoring him.
I've had more than a dozen Beetles and busses, but this is my first Ghia.

Pretty car. Love the color, seems to change with every camera angle. Congratulations on a nice Ghia. |

Thanks Paul! Appreciate the help. Here are some photos of the battery and also of the rear seats. You are the second to comment on the rear seat belts since I posted that. I just had them install lap belts. If you think the battery connects could be the issue, let me know. Another suggested that the cut-off switch could be corroded. Neither the terminals nor the cutoff look worse than they ever did (in fact both look cleaner since the new battery) but I'd love your thoughts. And, sorry for the mini-hijack of this forum. Feel free to PM me too.
Many thanks for the help!

Jon, Others,
What is the purpose of the cutoff?
Does this keep a drain off the battery or aid in theft protection?
It's cool but I don't understand the purpose.
Thanks,

What's that colour, JT? I'm looking for something as close as possible to cherry red. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly

It's a Candy Apple Red old hot rod style with lots of clearcoat. |

I picked up this '69 the other day from a guy 4 blocks away.
Pans have a couple soft spots, deck lid had been bumped & tail lights pushed in ever so slightly... other than that... it's very good!

I love Willow Green Ghias - Looks great!
It's pretty surprising to me how many really clean Karmann Ghias seem to be popping out of the woodwork all of a sudden. |
