Found this yesterday will bring it home later today.
PO passed away and his sister needed to sell.
Nice California rust free survivor needs upholstery and a bath.

Rescued this '59 twenty-five years ago.... had a coat of paint shot on its 1/2 bare steel body and packed it away for another day.... 2014 is "the day"!
I'll post pics as we re-finish it as a driver... no mirror display here - purely for fun, driving and a little intimidation for good measure.....

Managed to give the Ghia an airing in the French sunshine this summer, car seems to be holding up well whilst stored there but I think that the time might be coming when some decisions will need to be made about restoration.... _________________ 1960 RHD Karmann Ghia |

New to the vw world. Picked her up this past weekend, got a bit of work ahead of me but can't wait to get her going!
Now this might be a noob question but can anyone give me some info on this door trim? I like the smooth stainless better but was wondering if these are period correct to the car. It's a 1968 model

That's really different what you have done with the floor and the "headliner" - I like it!
I can't wait to see the finished product. |

actually the guy i got it from did this,he does flooring on the side. i'm going to keep the "headliner" in it, but i had to remove the panels on the floor because of some surface rust starting to appear on the new pans. but i too think its a neat idea, ill get a 'wood grain' dash cove to tie it in. |

Hi guys
These are my 2 Karmann Ghias. The Dove Grey 63 has been with us for about 15 years and the Sea Blue Ghia 60 we got recently, it is a long term project but runs beautifully.

Here's my '71 Ghia.
I think I'm going to take this engine out and put my engine I built in it.
Right now it's a matching number car. Should I change the engine?

If it bolts on and bolts off, do what ever you want. Just store the original parts. That way if you ever want to sell it, all the original parts are still there. |
