brackets thru the mid shoulder harness bolts..... This is just temporary as I will eventually have the bracket go up so I can install shoulder harnesses.

Guess I'm lost. What else? Is that two L brackets on the sides only, or theres a steel bar through that, then when you flop it down, what supports that part of the bed?
I may be just missing it. _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

I don't that that mid-ish bed in the bed flops down anymore or folds out anymore. It just looks like it has double blue pads on it... I may be wrong but thats what it looks like |

If you look closely at his pics on the previous page you can see the angle iron he used to run the length of the front supports. _________________ '76 Deluxe Campmobile |

I see it now. I thought that blue part flopped over bunk bed style. Sorry! _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

kid shoulder harnesses from SAFETY ANGEL. Recommend them highly as they are made lighter and thinner for smaller people. IMHO lap belts are not enough for kids.
follow the link to the shoulder harness they manufacture:

If there's one thing I would add to my bus, it would be headrests for my 3 children in the back. The seat lets are cool, but as the kids grow (as mine have) I keep wishing for a way to add those headrests. Same problem with my cruiser. _________________ ---------

Rear headrests from a 1993 SAAB 900 will suit your needs..... Bracket fastens into the back of your bench seat. Headrest is easily removed by sliding it out when you need to turn the bench into a bed.
If you want I could show pics of a mock up. I've been thinking of the same problem. _________________ Aerodynamics is for people who don't know how to build engines. |

Where do the harnesses connect to? I could only note from the link that they require the use of boosters. _________________ All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood

Here are some pics of the 93 SAAB 900 rear head rest. The bracket could fasten in the back of a westy bed. You could even extend the metal that comes out of the headreast with a simple weld for a custom fit.
Just the right depth too!

They are bolted thru the roof sht metal behind the roof frame. I can do this as I have a hightop and the bolts don't go thru to the outside. On the other side on the sht metal are big ass washers to prevent pull thru of the bolt when subject to high forces.
in the following picture you are looking up and aft at the roof frame. Note the three brackets just behind the frame.

I'm with you on the extra protection you are after. I'm not sure any size washer will hold up in sheet metal. You might want to consider drilling into the more solid frame member. I don't own an AW so I'm not exactly sure that would even cut it.
The headrests look cool. Got a picture of them held in position with the bus bed? _________________ All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood
