Did some searching, couldn't find this.

What size are the rear hatch hinge screws for an early split (5Cool?
And are they the same size for the decklid ?

PO broke off every one.

Have you checked out the Bus Parts Manuals here?

Section 8 on the body should have that info...

6mm X 1.00. Yes, they are the same screws as the decklid hinges.

I'm certain that the rear hatch screw is 6x10, part number N142271
and the deck lid screw is 6x12, part number N142281

They both have the same size and style countersunk Philips head.

I compared my rear hatch screws to my deck lid screws and the rear hatch is indeed shorter, and I tried the longer deck lid screw in place of a rear hatch screw and it seemed work without bottoming out.

Those part numbers are the originals, but Wolfsburg West uses the same part numbers.

Yes different in length. Not the same. Go with the longer ones if that's all you have. Should work.
