Hello,
Before I gave the shift rod to the painter, there was a spring at the bottom with a thing that is now missing.
What was it and where to buy it? Maybe there is also a spare part number? |

Thank you for your help.
My pictures were not the best.
I mean the thing in the small spring is missing now. |

I believe he means the little pin.
I don't know if it's available new
You might need to find one from another shifter.
I found another thread where someone was talking about it and he said he had a machine shop make one for him. Unfortunately I couldn't find any specs for it but maybe someone has one and can measure it.
This piece at the bottom:
Edit: I didn't see the post above. Yes, that's a better pic of what's missing. _________________ How to Post Photos

I'd be moderately surprised if it wasn't a DIN 660 steel rivet.
It'd be similar to how VW apparently used a common rivet for the SO-42 rear curtain bracket:

Thank you for the support.
Now I ´ve got a new one.
But now I´ve got a problem to install it.
How is it plugged into the front shift rod? Left or right?
I do not understand the system with the spring at all and what the steel rivet is for. Can someone explain it to me? |

The rounded end of the 'rivet' goes socket side with the spring, the straight end sticks through the slot in the shift rod.
The spring gives the rounded end some spring tension in the socket and stops the gearstick rattling/vibrating, and the straight shaft part in its slot stops the gearstick rotating.
When the rivet & spring is fitted correctly pushing on the rounded end it should bounce on the spring.
To fit it in the socket can be challenging! - I found very lightly 'peening' the edge of the hole in the ball of the shifter where the rivet fits, just so it stops it pinging out then drop it in its slot quickly! |

You are right.
I tried it before installation. It worked well.
But when I tried to install it, the spring kept jumping out of the hole and the bolt head blocked the front shift rod.
Today the shift rod has won... |

Maybe file/grind the head, so it is more flat (like the pic in post #3). _________________ aka: Evan

Looks dry
Did you plop a blob of grease down in the socket during assembly?
