Still working on it, and it is slowly coming together. Like "akapip" pointed out - these cars are real rustbuckets with a lot of steelwork required to get it back into shape. When found, my #225 was hit very hard in the front, lifted through the window with a forklift and the rear was about 10-inches narrower than original - add that on top of the rust and rotted wood and it means years in the workshop. 80% done now...
Thanks to the patterns I made in your workshop Ron, the whole front alumninium skin has been reshaped and is looking great now.

Looking good Øystein ! Is your #225 one of the former Swedish cars? I learned there were at least eight Beeskows sold here back in the 1950's. Like this convertible for example:

Pip... all I can say is.... "Damn! that car is coming along nicely!"
Oystein... your car is looking good too... what a difference!
so much nice Rometsch work being done everywhere! Between these Beeskows... The Grundman's beeskow coupe restoration... and the Grundman's resto of the cabrio split beeskow now at VW... It is just awesome to see so many get fixed.
After VW 38 is done... I wonder what Christian and Traugott's next project is! So many choices! |

If he doesn't put the car back "right side up" before he drives it the first time, he's going to ruin the paint. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Don't forget...
Re: hood hinge clearance...Don't forget this if you guys are gonna run dual carbs. The Beeskow scissor style hinges will interfere sometimes with the linkage and or aircleaners. Best to work this out before final engine detailing! On Okrasas... you need to cut and twist the manifolds out a bit with a little s curve insert into the middle of the manifold.
Re: the rear fenders... check the tire clearance with the top of the rear fenders... especially if running 356 brakes. It can be very tricky to get even 165 tires onto and off of the rear of the car sometimes. this varies from body to body however. I know that some cars do not have enough clearance for 165's on 4.5j rims and have to run 155's. Custom rims and tires should be trial fit with the car body roughed in... before final metal finishing... (wider rims must be offset to the inside usually) |

Amazing picture "2003nbc"!!! Thank you so much for this information - it must be from when it was "be-wheeled" at the company "Carriage Craft", before it was sold on. Very very interesting - thanks for sharing.
You have a PM, 2003nbc! |
