bout 55 on the highway it popped up on me
bent both corners
ripped both hinge mounts
busted some chrome/rubber on the bottom of the windshield
THANK GOD it Didnt Break The windshield

Ok....a couple of things. Mind you I mentioend this possibility in passing a few months back .
In the center of the hood against the fire wall there is a tab on the hood and a latch on the firewall. If the hood hinges are adjusted properly the two latch together if the front latch fails or is accidentally opened while driving...preventing what happened to you.
Hood hinges should be no propblem getting from a wreck that is being parted out anywhere. 411 hoods should not be a huge problem.
Adjusting the hinges will be a fun job. Not difficult...just tedious. Ray |
