I was wondering if any of you fellows had a good idea as to where I could find an oil temp sensor and gauge for my van. Also, I was wondering if it's possible to get an air temp sensor mounted in the engine bay or even near the thermostat to get a temp reading from the heads. Any ideas? |

Ive personally done this on a 1600 DP monitoring for months trough all kinds of driving and found that the only thing you really understand with a temp sensor mesuring airflow temp mounted in the exact location as the thermostat is that idle air is hotter than reved engine air, it will not warn you against a sudent head failiure with the speed you need. instead i did find helpfull knowing the oil temp (wich reacts exactly opposite to the air flow temp) but you will find yourself in a drowning sea of other people disenting ass to location of the sender and temp readings meaning anything other than "hot oil VS VERY Hot oil".
Good luck. |

The cylinder head temperature is almost as important if not more ...than oil temperature. You can have cool oil and overheating heads. Ray |
