| Hey Trevor. I went to mount the trans last night and I'm a 1/4 inch off like Ken. I'm curious about how you modified the rubber mount to gain the 1/4inch. |

Pull the front rubber mount and take 3/8" off the front of the mount (front is front) with a band saw. It will almost cut into the recess of the mount on the ID. Finish the end off by taking it to a belt sander or touch it with a grinder to tidy it up. Lube the OD of the mount to help it slide in upon install. _________________ http://www.nuts.commercial-air.com/

OK, time for a much needed update.
So as it turns out I ran out of both time and money to get it done for the Classics. Since getting back I have slowly been picking away at it. Much like Ken I don't show the wheels but that's cause I actually still don't have any! Hopefully any day now, but I am getting anxious to set her on her feet.

If you have to sand off the original patina, then I would expect nothing less than this beautiful example.....such a beautiful bus. _________________ 1959 Indigo Blue Type 1

I still remember when you posted 'Barndoor Christmas', maybe 7 years ago? (Sorry can't remember the exact date). Very good job on getting her there!
The last 20% usually winds up taking 80% of the time/effort

So after some more wrenching I have the old girl on the road as of last week. First outing was to a local cruise day show downtown. 900+ cars but I think the SC took it's fair share of the attention. Made it into the newspaper and a small spot onto a local radio station website. I have about 120 miles on her now and I can tell you that the 2180 I built is crazy strong and super smooth. At 130 Kph it still has 1/2 throttle left!
I'm still debating whether I need to lower the front a touch more. I think I have the rear where I want it now. Gotta do some tweaking here and there and get my semaphores to activate better too. I have them set up so they flash along with the rear lights which adds to my piece of mind.
