So I was messing around on a sandbar on the Missouri River and found a soft spot:

Thought: "no big deal, just a chance to take advantage of my winch." But, I didn't have any good pull points. Had to use this set-up to try to get out, but it was a poor angle and I didn't get anywhere. Took a yank from my buddy's pickup to get free. At least it was a nice spot to sit and wait.

My 1985 Bombardier/VW Type 183 Iltis. I'd made it through the other way only a few days earlier, not this time though! Case 4WD tractor to the rescue!
