I need pics/measurements. I am primarily interested in 67 arm photos and scale, although I think it would be beneficial for everyone to have a thread that shows all years available, and even better with side by side shots. From my searching I have found possibly --> 64, 65-66, and 67 --? Thanks in advance. _________________

Thanks for the link and the new sig line ...I had searched arms and blades but not bases. Ronnie, in this thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=102314 you mention 67 only arms. Can you or any one else elaborate. It looks from these like 66-67 may be like beetle bases. Are the arms the same as well? _________________

I have a set of 66-67 arms/bases and a set of arms/bases for my '63.
The arms look identical to me. Same length and design.
The 66-67 bases are longer.
From the threads above:
I believe the ones on the right in this photo are the longer 66-67 style
Also the middle style in this photo

Those appear similar to ghia bases but are slightly different if I remember correctly. I have 2 NOS ghia ones...mild shelf wear, but I think they are a bit different. If I am not mistaken the bases are different as below? Any more input would be great. Thanks.

Here's the backside photo from the thread above
The back of the center one, the Bus ones, does appear shorter.
I looked at the back side of my used 66-67 bases here and the raised portion is about 1" in length. I'm measuring the little curve downward too, which is not included in your red line above. _________________ How to Post Photos

The backside above are exactly as mine (SWF and all). I guess I need to look out for some 67 bases. _________________

I thought those were '65 wiper bases.
Is this the correct '66-'67 bus wiper arm?

These are actually a 1967-68 VW factory recall replacement item. Atleast that is what I have been told by many oldtimers. This was do to the damage caused to the wiper shaft by tightening the bolt on the early style. Same reason VW went to a threaded shaft for 1968.
I have also never seen this type of wiper arm in any factory photos. _________________ Home of the one true split Bus Motorhome |

Yes, that is my understanding as well - it's an upgrade to a new style of fastening that puts less wear on the shafts. |
Y'all have to be kidding me. My bus still had those on it when I bought it. I immediately said WTF are these?? And chunked them in the trash. _________________ -Andrew |

Ooops!
My old '67 Westy had them on there too, they worked really well. |
I agree. They do work well, especially in Washington state. I was not aware they were replacements though, but I have never had a '66-'67 bus that I was concerned about being "correct". |

Could anyone please post some details on this 67 replacement arms? I would be interested in the dimensions and a backside picture would be really helpful, so I know what I need to look for. They could be helpful in the rainy european weather. |

Not sure, but these appear to be the same recall-style arms (for reference/pictures: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2133243
I have a set that was on my '62 DC, and they offered better, more even pressure of the blade on the glass. There are also several threads that describe these later, recall wiper arms. Try searching terms like "recall wiper arm" or "dealer replacement [wiper] arm" _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz
