I have a chance to buy a 1983.5 Devon Moonraker. Its right hand drive. The body has a few bad dents and the motor is bad, But its all there.

Just wanting to know If paying $1400 is too much.

Thanks

Devon is one of the oldest names in camper vans, the company being established in 1956 at Sidmouth in Devon. Originally all Devons were based on Volkswagon vans and by 1971 Devon had 55% of the UK market.
Devons took factory buses or caravelles (like westfalia) and made jolly good quality Vanagon campers.
Made in Devon England

that's a bargain for a Devon over here , where there are thousands of devons, because they were so popular

The moonraker range was the standard camper.
comes with water delivery system, stove with a grill, Electrolux RM 122 fridge
1.9 DG carburated engine 76 bhp. early water system.

That last picture is the Devon Cassandra, isn't it?

I had the same roof if France, awesome space.

Watch the furniture,as they often turn bad, particule boards don't last long if hulidity came in.

The rear clothes cabinet should be fiberglass as well as the hanging one on the rear ceiling, covered with carpet.

The skylight is often bad ,because the frame in the fiberglass is wood, easily fixable,as well as the corners of the poproof.

The struts will maybe have to be replaced.

Try to bargain the price down Cool

ALIKA T3.. I have found a french website with a late Bay '78 described as a Devon Cassandra.
No vanagons though.

perhaps it was for the french market, as they were not seen here in Britain

You're in the USA and this jewel is right-hand-drive - anything above scrap value is too much.

German, American French Czech vanagons that come to Britain are not devalued by which side the steering is on.
they are devalued by the state they are in.
In this country lefties are not common, left hook vanagons sell to those who are just not bothered, and some want the exclusivity of it. and some want a westy but they only come in LHD.

I have always wanted a right-hand-drive. The price on the van is $600 and $800 on shipping. I think the price is pretty fair, But I think that is the best I will be able to find on shipping.

Ok,I've asked the question on T3zone.com

It seems that there is a mix in the names, the pop up roof Cassandra is made by Eurec, not by Devon.

That explains the lack of documentation Laughing

They look very similar....

I always wondered why the roof pops sometimes on the opposite side of the sliding door on the British T25.... Rolling Eyes, maybe they were Eurec and not Devon?
