I drove a 56 and 64 for several decades. The 64 was a pure joy. They drive very very nice.

BUY IT!

They get better gas mileage then our Vanagons! Smile Smile

I am not an expert in 356's but I always wanted one. Me and a couple of friend went to a farm to get some parts to repair a bus and the owner of the farm "teased" us with one of his stored cars.
I took the pics with a crappy phone camera, I will be taking better pics when I get back there to find more parts.
Enjoy

Never seen this tail light before

No Shit!!! Very Happy Me too... I didnt dared to ask the owner if he sells it to me because I know it will be out of reach for my budget right now. The car is complete, the interior is immaculate and all missing body parts are there and even more. The early tranny and at least two other engines... and the best part is Zero rust.

Talking with him, he got the car many years ago for $700 when the 356s were worthless because the porsche people were more intereted in the 911s. The owner was very pleasant to talk and very knowledgeble about his collections. I will be there very soon to get some parts for a bus and also an engine for my ghia. I will re-post better pictures at that time.

Buy the SE5a model airplane and maybe he'll throw in the car for free before that yellow fungus takes over the rest of the ride.

I found this one on one of my business trips. Could not get the owner but the Neighbor said he gets asked yearly if he wants to sell it. Sad thing is there is about a 92 Acura under a covered shelter about 6 feet away.

That motor as is....is worth at least 1K. Do a search on Ebay for Porsche 356 motors. You will be surprised.Just all the bolt on parts are hard to find and people would pay good money for that just for spares.

A few years ago a buried a couple of 914 lug nuts in the back yard. I forgot about them until I went out to mow the field and found these growing...

The following spring we had these!

Next year I'm planting some 550 lug nuts...

Hey everyone-
One of my adventures from last year was recently published by 9 Magazine, a very solid and up and coming Porsche magazine. The adventure was fun and makes for a good read.

LOL. It must be pretty bad. That was the story I thought I remembered you saying $25,000.

There's one around here thats actually much worse than that one that is sitting in this old dudes front yard that I found in 92. Nothing special, 71 Zambezi green 1.7ltr with steel wheels I finally stopped in 98 and talked to the guy and he told me that his nephew and him bought it to restore, but they had never found the time. I asked him if he'd sell it. He said how much, and I offered $300. He about choked. He said that these cars were super valuable and with a battery this one would start right up, like any good Porsche. Yeah right. It had to be sitting there since 78 from the deterioration. This car was so roached that it wasn't worth what I was offering. Broke in half, couldn't open the door and was sinking into the dirt. I should go back there and thank him for not selling it to me. He saved me a lot of headache. On a funny side note, a year ago I scored three cars in way better shape for $250.

This is a friend of mine....it was road-wothy a few years ago....

Had dual carbs and all
