About 3 months ago a guy post a 23 window up for sale in hialeah and i found it hard to believe that in hialeah there was going to be an early 23 window stashed away well it was true. The seller posted it up but wouldn't respond to any emails pm or calls. At the time i didnt have the capital to buy it. Time went on and i sold my beetle and i wanted to buy what i have always wanted. And having it so close made me want to look for it. So after alot of googling i found out by his user name that he was part of a hialeah band "Humbert" i found them on facebook and i messaged one of the members of the band and he was like the guy you have to speak to is Ferny. I looked on white pages and found a number and address in hialeah. I called several times and nothing. So yesterday saturday i said let me pass by. So i go in my 66 splity driving around when a lady flags me down! Turns out was at the same address i was looking for. She loved my 66 and i was like well by any chance do you have a 23 window for sale? She like yea my son has had one for many years thrown in the back yard. She calls her son out and sure it was the 23 window was in a tiny alley in the back of the house. I loved it and knew i had to have it. I saw the floors and belly pans were gone and the rear section of the roof was ruff but other then that the bus was very straight. So later that night i called him made him an offer and well today picked it up!!!! ALl the wheels were seized from being parked 30+ yrs so i removed all the brake pads and put 4 rims with tires and pulled it home! Its going to be a long project with slow updates but im going to post pictures as i go along. Today i already ripped out the floors and belly pans and started taking mold off the front nose. Tell me what you think.
Rolling and out of the whole it was in for 30+ yrs in HIALEAH!
Pressed bumpers with deluxe trim, all og german pop outs with og spoon latches, sky lights, sun roof assembly head lights, the guy was organized!!!!
A little easy off to the nose
ripped out the floors and belly pans
How it look in 1964 when the 2nd owner bought it (guy i bought it from) _________________ Miami V-dubs

X2. Nice work on not giving up. Funny how no phone calls were returned, but show up in person and a deal is made! Kinda works that way with job opening/interviews too..
Looks like a tarp would have helped the roof in this instance for those 30+ yrs....but you'll get her going in good time. _________________ 1967 13 window walkthru bus

sweet score! something else neat besides it being a pressed bumper 23 is that for some reason there seem to be very few 56/57 built 23s left in the world, lots of 55s which is weird and lots of 58s.............congrats! _________________ www.vintagemotorsportsor.com
