today i found out the hard was that i have a 1973 karmann ghia engine and a 68-71 bus generator will not!!! fit right, it extends too far out and screws the belt up, just saying make sure! Very Happy

yes, it will fit if you have all the correct mounting parts. apparently you do not.

the belts on yes, and ive been riding on it for months, but the belt sits at a weird angle and loses tension about every 2 months, what hardware do i need to fix this?

If it's indeed a 38 amp generator you'll need the dished bus only backing plates and the bus only fan hub, likely the bus only pulley as well.

damn, i knew i probably needed that dished backing plate, and i need a different fan as well?

Same fan (27 or 32 mm depending if it's doghouse or not) 30 amp or 38 amp.
