You have the metal fittings, measure their outside diameter. I can't remember if the hose size is 28 or 30mm... but you can find 28mm under the part number 311255291A |

Okay, I just checked and the metal Y-pipe in my 62 is about 27mm OD. So a 28mm hose would be about right for that. Not sure what you have there though... |

Need help on my 62 Convertible and I think this is the best place to ask...
Trying to finish up the kick panel area and I only have one kick panel. I checked it last night to make sure it was correct before purchasing another one and it doesn't seem to fit. I have the oval ports attached to the pan and a matching oval port kick panel. The shape seems to be correct but it doesn't sit against the seat support.
Looking at Harris' rear seat support mine looks different. Any thoughts as to what is going on? Are convertibles rear seats different?
Sorry for the crappy iPhone pictures, hopefully you can tell what I am talking about.

Yes convertible rear seats are much different than sedans due to the cross body support and narrower internal body at the rear for the folding top frame attachment points.
Those above are Sedan Kick Panels. You will need Convertible specific Kick Panels.
Those particular "62" Convertible Kick Panels.... are going to be very VERY hard to find..
My advice.. make a pair from good plywood... and have them covered.
The other option is use pre 62 panels without the outlet and cut the matching 62 outlet into those.
You are limited on options..

Id say maybe Medium Rare...
Seriously though.. You just dont find the rigid style tubing often..
In all my 62-63 Beetle and salvage hunting experiences I've never found one that had them.
Never knew they existed until this topic.

Is this a 1961 Model Year beetle? If so, those were not used. They only started in August 1961 for Model Year 1962 and lasted to mid December 1962 (so the first third or so of Model Year 63) _________________ Andy T.

Okay, when you mention what year your car is, please use the Model Year, or at least say when it was made.
Well, you won't find those for sale new anywhere. Look in scrapyards, and post a WTB (Wanting To Buy) advertisement in theSamba Classifieds or try the classified ads over on the VZi site that's out of England. _________________ Andy T.

These little transition pieces that fit the round hose end to the oblong outlet opening would be awesome to find...they are missing from my setup. I guess I can use this pic as a template to make something out of cardboard or felt.
