|
|
Hey Guys,
A buddy just drug home a Bradley GT. Model is 15000 and serial is 00285.
All it would be worth is whatever a body is worth - that is rather rough. Saveable, yes, but rough. The pan is rotted out almost completely and I would bet the motor (NOT a 1600) is probably stuck. I told him to find another donor beetle and put the body on it.
The dash is ..... um........ pretty good and the seats are there (Definitely need to be re-done). Glass is ok except the back triangle shaped rear quarter windows are fogged.
It is DEFINITELY a "project" but i was wondering if it was worth being a "project"? I HATE seeing anything get crushed.
Thanx for your time! |

I love the look of a Bradley GT. Fiberglass is easy to mend and bondo isn't a crime on a fiberglass car. Unfortunately bugs rot from the bottom up, so just about any donor car will have all the same parts rusted. I would hate to buy a really good unrusted car and trash the body. Even as I type that I realize my car had new channels and pans but the body was really rough. The engine came in many boxes. So the donor car of your dreams is out there. |

If its a GT than consider it basically a dunebuggy shaped kinda like a car. The plexi doors are a poor design and barely even available. Same for the rear plexi (there are two styles). The front windshield is from a Vette and readily available.
If its a GT2 then there are a whole bunch of other issues. The windshield is proprietary. |

It is a GT II. Everything is there, it's just that the body is a bit rough.
But, are they really worth anything?? Or sought after? |

Worth anything? Sure....rough GTII probably $1000. ONLY if the windshield is intact. Fixed up it might be worth $5000-$6000 if done nice.
Sought after? No...not sought after...other than the windshield. You might get $500 for a good windshield. |

Last 2 GTIIs I bought were $250 & $300 with good windshields...
Like anything else, they are worth no more than what the highest payer will offer you.
The $300 car, with good windshield, the wheels shown, extra set of complete doors & components, hatch glass, seats, interior panels, etc..., no engine.

Cool, thanx guys. That gives me some ideas.
All the glass is good so that is a plus.
I'm not too sure he wants to tackle the project yet. (I know/would bet what will eventually happen... ) so....... I may post it on here to see if anyone else would like to save this cool car.
Again, thank you for the help!!!
Now, back to finishing MY buggy......... |

I'm not sure what he will want for it but it will be REAL reasonable.............but it is in South Eastern Indiana. I'd like to take it on but after I get my buggy done, I'm taking a break. |
