I hate to see stuff like that, especially on a just-finished-building-it virgin run. Glad you guys are OK. Doesn't look like the car is that bad?

I asked the guy to actually measure it to see if it is a 45 x 60. So we'll see in a few days. I hope its a little smaller.

Here is a quick pic of my Yakima MegaWarrior (52x48) on my bug. Custom is definitely nicer, however unlike most of the customs in this thread I can move the basket to my other vehicles.

I noticed they sell a tire mount for the Megawarrior. I like that rack a lot and might go that direction, if I don't just build one myself. Do you think the guttermounts would be strong enough to put a tire up there in the basket?

I use my Baja as more of a dual sport vehicle. I don't run it hard off road, I use it to get to me and my stuff where I want to go. Fishing, kayaking, camping, biking... More road miles than off road miles.

Considering what I ask of the vehicle (i.e. the way I drive it), I wouldn't hesitate to put a tire up there. However, I run 215/75R15 BFG ATAs on 5.5" wheels all around. My spare fits under the hood (on top of the fuel tank), and I like having the weight there.

Different angle with the newly added bike trays...

Im looking for a smaller rack that is shaped like yours on the bottom, that way it can fit on the top of my rail.

Notice how my top bars are shaped, kinda like this ^, but not to that extent.

Or some type of rack I can fit between gas tank and engine.

I'm not post whoring. I'm not new to forums at all nor am I concerned about my post count. It doesn't matter on this forum.

Buggy Disaster If you off road with that rail does water and debris get inside your speakers? Dirt and such?

Honestly, theres no telling whats in there. Smile .As of now, the speakers are on by adjustable zip ties, and snap on/ of wire connections. It takes about 4 minutes to take the speakers out and then put them in my toolbox. They are pretty durable speakers though, Ive got caught in the rain a couple of times, and the speakers get soaked each time. They still work and sound like new though.

Sorry, just had to add my 2 cents. You guys must all be teenagers because that is about the maturity level you conduct yourself at! Shame on you I mean really, post counts, is that what you try to diminish our beloved Samba to?! And FYI, it is usually the accuser that is guilty themselves. Let's just at least TRY to act like adults here. Pray
Thank you.

I was there too when I didn't know much about volks or jeeps. Very Happy Got to start somewhere. I'm picking this rack up at 930pm of all times. I figure I'll try and use it for the bug and if its too big, this one can go on the wrangler too. If its the smaller rack like I want, I hope it fits in the back of the wrangler at an angle so I can take it home. He said it was about a 4' x 5'. Kargo Master offers a 42" x 50", 52" x 50", and a 52" x 60"...... Shocked
