Here are some holes:

The 1-2 side. The one below the cheesehead screw, and the one in the head to the left of the stud. I assume I'm to plug them both?

The 3-4 side. Again, the one to the left of the stud, and the big one in the sheet metal. Plug 'em?

on somewhat original engine i took apart recently the holes adjacent tot he intakes there were simple filled with a tin screw and slightly larger washer.

onthe 3/4 side that hole normally has a grommet for the head temp sensor on FI engine, for sure plug it

the threaded holes on each side of the intake ports are for air injection, smog stuff... you can plug 'em with an M10x1.00 bolt, about 2 1/2 inches long... the other hole in the tin just need plugged somehow...
