|
|
I recently had the good fortune to come across an original blank VW of America window sticker for the pre-1966 cars. These were filled out by the dealer, and the information pertaining to the vehicle was typed in by the dealership, and the sticker was then posted in a window of the car while the car was on the lot for sale.
I'd like to enter the information on this sticker in the exact same format as the dealer did, with the appropriate abbeviations as used, etc., but I need to see a scan or copy of an original VW window sticker where the information was entered by the dealer, for use as a template.
I realize that this must be a rare thing to see, as these window stickers were routinely removed by either the dealership or by the new owner of the car upon its sale, and then disposed of.
Can anyone provide the forum with a copy of such a window sticker? This will be for my all-original 1957 Beetle.
Thanks for the help!

AlanInMass54,
Thank you very much!
I think this should be very close to the information, font type and size, etc., to be entered for a 1957 VW vehicle, with the obvious exception of the engine horsepower, etc.
I know I'm really gilding the lily here, but if anyone has the equivalent window sticker for the 1950s-era VW cars, that would be great, and my quest will have ended.
Thanks again!

Mr Berman- Don't know if this will be of any help to you. I have the original
window sticker from my 1966 beetle which I bought new in june of that year and still own. If your interested, send a PM with postal contact and I'll send you a photo copy at no charge.
Also at one time, perhaps two or three years ago there was a fellow on this site who had blank copys of window stickers. He had the correct type/fonts to fill in the info on the sticker. If memory serves me correct he was asking
something like 15. or 20 bucks per sticker.
No garantee's but you may want to look around to see if that service might still be available. |

Hi Mr. Mike,
Thanks very much for the reply and for your kind offer, and congratulations for being the original owner of your car after all of these years. I think that is a really great accomplishment. I'm sure your car is a real beauty, and no doubt reflects true pride of ownership.
For now, at least, the dealer sticker image that was posted earlier in this thread may do the job for me. If not, I'll give you my address via PM, and we can take it from there. Ideally, I really need to view a dealer sticker for a US market 1957 DeLuxe Sedan, as that is where I will find all of the accurate information pertaining to my year vehicle, although I know I can obtain the same info by going to multiple sources, which may be a bit of a pain..........
Fortunately, I know the name and address of the dealer where my car was purchased, as well as the date (July 20, 1957) when the car was actually purchased and picked up by the original owner.
The dealer stickers I have were recently obtained from a fellow here on Long Island. They are original (not copies) stickers provided by VWoA to their authorized dealers for execution and installation in the cars the dealer sold. The seller here on Samba that I obtained them from is charging a very reasonable $10.00 each for either the pre-66 or post-66 versions.
Thanks & Regards,
