Did Wolfsburg had 'test' cars in the 50ties?

Hi to all

Does someone knows if VW Wolfsburg had test cars in the fifties?

I noticed in the paperwork of my 57 oval window that it was registered for just over a year in Wolfsburg with the notification: driver 'prüfer'. After that first year it changed owners. So I asume it was some kind of test.

There is a documented Coral Red Oval here in Ohio that was a test car.
