Oh I know you'll give her a bunch, I just want her to know I'm thinking of her often too, even though I haven't been able to make the trip over. _________________ Sue

Two full days of sorting, scrapping and moving stuff. We filled a 16 yard dump truck with trash, and there are 2 tons of scrap metal ready to recycle.
Russ's pole barn is set up for Marilyn to sell, sell, sell. Blankmange and The Sage are hammered tired. _________________ Feel My Pain l Sage Ad World |

So, you got the entire shop cleaned out, organised, and ready for Marilyn?? I don't think so. I know I've spent almost 2 weeks (not at the same time) cleaning up stuff there, and there was still a couple of weeks of organising there. I know that south wall had 2 full days of cleaning on it alone. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

no, we didn't get that far, Bob...
primarily, we got two big jobs done for Marilyn:
1) Emptied out her garage where her SUV and lawnmowers are. She can actually walk around out there now.
2) Scrapped/sorted all of the south wall of the shop as far as usable/sellable items. We found boxes that Russ had never opened.
We had hoped to do more organizing in the shop for Marilyn, but once we got in there, we realized that we needed to back up a step and simply start throwing things away that Russ never got to; things like buckets of used pushrod tubes, coffee cans of used spark plugs, and cans of unsorted nuts and bolts.
What the Sage was getting at was that she can now walk around in the shop and know that (for the most part), the parts that are left are the ones she'll be selling off. Getting it inventoried and posted for sale will be the next step.
almost forgot: Sue, those hugs got delivered.... _________________ póg mo thóin

16 yards of garbage and about 2 tons of metal. We left Marilyn with some easy boxable items to list and sell. She needs to learn the camera and ebay.
The south wall has been sorted, the crate of used super bug bumper brackets for example was a real treat, same with the crate of bad generators. We also moved all the VW stuff from the house garage over to the shop.
We are wondering how to liquidate the non-shipable items, and the bulk quantity items. The stack of NOS 412 tailgates comes to mind.
She has some items she can sell now, and the junk is gone. That's progress. _________________ Feel My Pain l Sage Ad World |

Unfortunately, I could not come assist although I was invited by Dave. Had I thought about it I'd have had you call regarding "questionable" items since I have a good idea of how/what to dispose of.
Feel free to contact me for some assistance. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

When she starts selling some stuff will you post up some links? I'd be glad to pick up some stuff to help - even if I may not need them right now. _________________ 71 Squareback

"You just know somebody, somewhere needs this part" was uttered more than once, but to be realistic, used cylinders and melted cases along with jars and jars of nuts and bolts simply are not easy to sell as is. We looked at this as setting up Marilyn with a way to reduce the inventory. _________________ Feel My Pain l Sage Ad World |

Nope, that's the stuff I would have said gets tossed first. Depending on how far a scrapyard is from Marilyn's, you'd have fetched quite a chunk of change for a car loaded up with scrap iron. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

Melted cases are scrap. Used cylinders are probably 1500s, which are getting tough to find. You could sell the nuts and bolts by the pound to people who have a tumbler and want OEM fasteners. Wish I was closer. I know the Type 3 stuff, which is undoubtedly a lot of what you are looking at. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
