ive been experimenting with generic FLAPS weather stripping in the front door area to lessen whistling, while it works i have to find a better method to secure to the van mine keeps slipping out of place with repeated opening and closing of door, i also used some with modification on the vent wing window which stopped quite a bit of noise _________________ 88 Westy GL Vanaru 07 2.5 EJ25/AA Trans/oiling plates, 1.14 3rd-.77-4th..solar powered cabin |

Thanks for the post
The parts I am looking at at the moment are, Chromed Front Driver/Passenger Side Window, and the sliding glass windows on the side.
Anybody know any good fixes for these?
I am even happy to removed the chrome and replace with all rubber weatherstripping, but would prefer to find a less expensive alternative to the weatherstripping packages for vw's found online that are in the $40+ price range. |

While I admire your effort to find a less expensive solution, I think that the generic stuff will only fit a "generic" car reasonably well.
The weather stripping from the usual vendors really does work and fit perfectly. _________________ 87 Westy, 250k GW 2.4 - 2.0 , 16" wheels |

Look up Restoration Specialties. http://www.restorationspecialties.com/
They have all kinds of rubber, window channels, etc. Everything that I have got from them has been very good and a reasonable price. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.
