hope you make it to the classic. I will be looking to pick your brain on all sorts of things. This build is so great because of the detail. This is really going to help me as i work to finish mine.
Thank you for taking the time Brent!! _________________ Mike Madden

I'll make it.
It's pretty much done except for washing/ polishing and the trim. The oil pump cover started leaking, so it took me a couple days to get it all apart (in car) and fixed. Glad to have that done, its dry under there now.
I'll get some picture up soon. I'm in the process of moving, so the car hasn't been getting a lot of attention this week. Packers should be done tomorrow and I'll have some time. Talk about cutting it close with finishing! _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

I had some time for a quick photo shoot today. Here she is!
Just in time for the Classic. Whew!
Thanks to Dave and Clatter for tool and garage use this last week. We adjusted the suspension a couple times, changed the gear oil (I've been driving back and forth to Santa Cruz to make my first 500 miles), valve adjustment, oil and filter change, added a deep sump, new exhaust check valve for the breather (1st one broke already), and a handfull of other minor things.
Other than a very small oil weep from somewhere behind the fan shroud, we're ready for the drive to LA tomorrow. See you guys on Saturday, I'm excited! _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |

Hey Brent,
just wow! It definately looks even much better then new!
Now treat yourself by using it a lot. I already did roughly 1.400 mls on my fasty and enjoyed every single minute!
I envy you so much for visiting the Classics. I hope I can participate next year again... _________________ 1966 Fastback "The Volksback"

Thank you ALL for the comments!
Getting ready to drive Hwy 1 down to LA, hopefully I can get a few decent pics today.
The USB plug is a dual female made by OCP wired into a cigarette socket that has a dual USB adapter. Then I just used a small piece of ABS to secure it. I need my Garmin and phone charge plug! Now if only someone would make some Type 3 vehicles for the Garmin... I'm rocking a Porsche 959 in the meantime. _________________ 69 Fastback Build (Doris) |
