| How long did I miss it by? I knew I should have called earlier! Hopefully she went to a good home. I hope everything works out for your wife and family. You did a lot of really nice work. |

I'm sorry you had to sell it under those circumstances, but family comes first, right? Besides, your next bus will be even better.
Thanks for sharing your project with the rest of us. Your work is inspirational. I really enjoyed following along.
Best wishes to you and your family. _________________ "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." - Benjamin Franklin |

Hang in there Buddy,
Luck will turn around. Most important take care of your Wife and things will get better. We have been through some rough patches since buying our bus too. We would love to restore our bus but right now we can't even think about it. I am just trying to preserve and fix what I need to to keep it safe.
Last year I rented a house and unknowingly exposed my family to toxic mold and my Daughter became severely ill. She is still on a lot of meds from it. We are slowly on the mend and hope to use the bus this year a bit
Health care is expensive. My out of pocket expenses last year would have almost bought a Raby Camper Special.
Take care and keep us posted. |

Sorry for your project hiccup. We have a a pair of aircooled VWs and they have been waiting for a decade (in the dry) for me to get $$$ ahead to finish them. Not costing me anything (shed and garage are their waiting rooms).
You have to do what you have to do. I hope your wife is all fixed up.
We're moving slowly forward on our Westy. Am doing the semi-cheap stuff like cleaning parts and painting them with Rustoleum or tractor implement paint. Both have that really great semi-gloss sheen. Front suspension is painted awaiting reassembly and reinstallation. rear suspension about half out.
I too would like to know more about where you sent the brake booster for a rebuild. I don't know if I'll need mine done or not. i have mine cleaned and painted but won't know if it still works until I reinstall it. |

Hello everyone and thanks for all the good comments and wishes! My better half is now healthy and we have been surfing together again which is awesome!
Time has passed and today was the first day in almost a year that i have looked at this thread and it is very emotional to go through it all. I think it has sparked another engine in my mind telling me to get another one. Not sure if i want to spend all the time customizing and restoring so if anyone knows of a good deal on a similar bus in good working and looking condition.. not asking for an arm and a leg, please let me know..
until then i will be on a mission to site out another bus.
