So, I am getting closer to starting on my FrankenWestyWeekender. The shell is an '82 Diesel. The slider has a bit of damage. I have at my disposal a couple of later sliders that are in great condition and a friend that is a master autobody man. If I have him weld in the propper door lock mount at the rear, would a later door fit? Or, are there other issues with the slider rail etc. that make this just not practical.
Thanks,

Generally, I would say it is a no go. BUT, BUT, BUT, anything is possible if you have a true master look into it. Any master would look and measure. In this case, it may not be that practical, but likely doable. Just what it will take is another question. Maybe, just maybe the master can mix and match and make it work. It will require careful checking. It may be a no brainer. No brainer, yes or no brainer, no. You have to look into it. Never seen it done, yet. There is always a first time. Maybe even someone done it already....
