Ummmmm Sure.
No you're probably right. No limit on how snobbish some 67 owners can actually get.
So how does this registry thing work?
Does one member person keep all the info or is it posted for all to see? |
I will post tonight but so far, I am the only one on it. I need the info in either a PM or post on this thread. Whatever is easier for you guys |

It goes to a registry on Word that I made that will be updated when I get new information each time. I will post the one tonight when I get home from work. |

Oh...Ok... So your definition of a "registry" is a fancy word for a list. More informal than formal. Got it.
The interest has potential for a 67 only website.
Do you plan to include ALL 67 Beetles, with no prejudice of creed?
One for all and all for one?
Those of us who modify the 67 often are "snubbed". _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Whatever you guys want on it, I'll put on it. Yes you are right, it's just an informational list that is for fun and for us on Samba to see who has what.
All '67's can go on it, why not? if you guys want mods or no mods listed, its up to you. Im just posting the list for fun and general consensus wins. |

I'm all for just a nice organized vin list in chronological order with a few stats.
if possible seperated by months of production, and maybe notes or breaks at each vin number at which a known production change was made.
Really could care less for a list of cars with correct 67 only parts listed. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Id say if it's a '67 add it. Regardless if its a '67 with '66 fenders and decklid etc. At the end of the day, its still a '67.
You guys decide what format you want and Ill do it. Ill post the one I have later to give you an idea what it looks like now with the owners username, model, build date, VIN # and color. I dont think engine size is important??? Do you? I think nice and basic is the best. |

how hard would it be to find the history of it. from the first owner/state all the way up to present owner. darn car might have been across the us couple times. _________________ go fast or go home |

Here it is with my info. I wanted to use a program called Rapidweaver. I used Word instead for the quickness and simplicity.
Obviously, I will update the list when I get other cars and will put them in their respective places in order by VIN # and build dates.
I can add or subtract items, just let me know. I think for just having fun and seeing who has what here on Samba, it is good enough.

Are we doing Deluxes now? If so, I want a Deluxe too...
Hahaha... But seriously. I want a Deluxe.
Also if you know the full date (actual day), it would be cool to put the whole thing on there. Might help guys like me who haven't invested in the Birth Certificate yet narrow the range a bit.
Thanks! _________________ Daniel

You should start on putting your 67 vert back to factory correct..They are too rare ... |
I thought you all knew that 67s are the rarest early fat chicks out there! As a matter of fact the 67 is the fattest of the early bugs, fat decklid with matching angled overriders to make room for the fat, fat black knobs, upright headlights, Z bar to help control all the fat, and all that one year stuff makes it super expensive to restore as well. The only skinny part on a 67 is the chrome molding (which is actually a fat chick part)
I realize that there are many more 67 lovers out there but thats because there are many more 67 around due to higher production.
You are right I have never owned one and never will. I cant bring myself to make a FAT CHICK factory correct, to me its a waste of time and money. |
