Hello all and glad I found this forum. So let me ask this question before I ask to join.I have had my 67 since 1977 or so.I have put many miles on it ,motors, etc. It was even stolen from in front of my house, police located it,stripped of the seats, motor and bumpers.I put it back together(living in L.A has it's perks) So now I want to restore it.It has many pan issues, sagging spring plates, holes, rusted brake lines etc.Wow I thought this was going to be a short email. So I have always wanted to have a early body style ,but also wanted IRS.I have found the IRS set up handles (again a matter of taste) alot better on corners etc.So if I do a 69 pan swap with my 67 body can I still join or do I take a hike? Shocked thx, theduck

New member of our family. Perfect for summer runs to the DQ for ice cream with the grandkids. We're the third owners; still has original engine with about 95k miles. Some work to do, but isn't that the fun of it?

Thanks for adding "Wally2" to the registry.

1967 Sedan, numbers matching crankcase upgraded to 1641 single port and a single 30 PICT 1 with a balanced crankshaft and EMPI header/muffler. The heat channels are rust-free, as is the rest of the pan and most of the body. Everything else is pretty much stock, with the exception of the LR fender being covered in stickers. The paint is original, but faded/half primer. I'm the 4th owner, after my dad. Long story short, she's been in the family longer than I have, and after sitting for a good ten years with the motor disassembled down to the case/internals, my dad and I slapped her back together, and I've spent the past 6 months getting her more and more roadworthy. I have her in the shop getting new ball joints and tie-rod ends, so I can't list the VIN number right now, but her birthday was within a week, give or take, of my dad's birthday on 10/25/66.

Sorry for the long post, and for anyone who is curious, the other rusting hulk is my roommate's 1949 Chevy Styline.

Folks,
Might as well start my first post
Think I picked up a good Beetle for my daughter. It'll need a little TLC. But I.think it'll be a pretty reliable and stand out car for her. So the guy I bought it from didn't know a lot about it since he just liked to cruise in it. Let's start with this: according to title the VIN is 117458592. The stamp on the engine block is OF0280961

So my question to the group is, what the heck do I have?

The engine stamp is not your vin. You need to lift the back seat and check there to see if the title matches. Another place to look is in the trunk there should be a plate with the same info.

Hi Steve,

I really like your wheel/suspension setup. That the kind of look that I want to give to my 67 bug. Can you give some info like wheel offset, tire dimension, front beam setup, etc. It's will be really helpfull.

Thanks.

Stephane
