Hi Guys - I have been lurking here for years and just registered today. My first car was a 1967 Savannah Beige sedan and I loved it!!! Unfortunately she caught fire and had to be put to rest.

In January, I purchased this beauty in Phoenix and had it built at a VW shop out there. The car had solid bones, good paint and a great interior, we just added lipstick (lots of it). It is scheduled to deliver to my home in CT on Saturday!!!!

USERNAME: back2bugs
MODEL: Sedan (grafted ragtop)
BUILD DATE: January, 2014
ENGINE SIZE: 2180
VIN #117533211
COLOR: White (not sure of the correct VW specific color)

Looking forward to transferring from a lurker to a participant.

Hi there. Proud '67 vert owner here. Will get numbers at a later date. I am currently looking for a check list of the unique '67 stuff I should be looking for. The car is currently a basket case with a dual port engine. I want to build a politically correct engine as a spare when (not if) it breaks. Tranny will be the same. No major mods planed that cat be undone by bolting in the OG components. But I do need the punch sheet to make it a true '67.
Thanks for any help.

Post some photos and we can tell you what you need to find. 67 vert parts can be especially hard to find depending upon what it is.

The body is complete. It's the engine pieces I'm concerned about as the tin is gone converted to a dual port. Needing dizzy #, genny #. Tin and breast plate example. Thanks for the help.

Applause Of course you've been to 1967Beetle.com, right? Let me know, please, if your 'vert has the back seat retention hook still in place. We're looking for proper placement before reinstalling one on our Yukon Yellow '67 convertible. Yellow 181

Not sure how this registry works. I too am an owner of a 1967 sedan. My second actually. My mom bought the first sedan new in 1967 and gave it to me when I started to drive in 1983. Of curse I took her from stock to calbug style ASAP. Car was looking good until it was stolen a few years later. The car was recovered but destroyed by the thieves. They were caught though, just a little too late.

My second came just a few weeks ago, found her on Craigslist for $1300. She is in the paint shop now and cant wait to get it back. Funny how I seem to be buying everything I immediately took off the first bug and trashed. Oh well, different times and different desires. Is there a link to the registry?

Did the thieves, at least, get the death penalty?

Hi guys,

Maybe there is a topic about this what i'd like to get informations or perhaps not.

I'd like to know what is the exact differences between the european and the american version of 1967 beetle. There is some what I know:

American:
- after headlights and fenders with horn grills
- volkswagen badget on deck lid
- red hazard switch on dashboard
- 5 lug wheels
- one pair back up lights

European:
- pre headlights and fenders
- vw1500/vw1300 badget on deck lid
- hazard switch just an extra and not same
- 4 lug wheels
- no back up lights

Others? If I know well the american version made in Europe and exported to the USA. But the american version can't be buy in Europe.

Thanks!
